Why Bet on Pachuca?

The locals ended 7th on the scoreboard last season and made their way to the quarterfinals of the Liguilla through the Play-Ins, but lost against the defending champions.

Pachuca boasted an excellent offense with a massive Salomon Rondon, but their defense was too leaky, and even if they assaulted the top of the table in the early season, they ended up falling on the table with each passing month. However, in their defense, they succeeded in their CONCACAF Champions Cup campaign. They met Columbus Crew in the final at the beginning of June and lifted the trophy for the sixth time with a dominant 3-0 win.

Now returning to competitive action on a high after another triumphant season, Pachuca will now set out to build on an impressive start to 2024 and put together a strong Apertura campaign to book their place in the final phase, starting with an opening-day win on home turf.

Why Bet on Monterrey?

Monterrey has its sights set on the first piece of Liga MX silverware since the 2019 Apertura competition after enjoying relatively pleasing campaigns over the last two seasons.

The Rayados impressively went through last season initially, again booking a guaranteed quarterfinal place in the Clausura campaign with a fourth-placed league finish. They later scraped past Tigres to book a two-legged tie with Cruz Azul with a spot in the final on the line.

Like their hosts, Monterrey only departed at that stage as a result of the two teams’ seedings ahead of the final phase, having earned a 2-2 aggregate draw to no avail thanks to an impressive victory away from home.

Fernando Ortiz’s team will now set out to continue their improvement and bring a trophy back to the Estadio BBVA, with their first opportunity presented in the Apertura starting Monday.

Final Betting Analysis: Pachuca vs. Monterrey

Both sides boast similar levels of quality throughout their squad and are hit by several enforced absences heading into the curtain-raiser. We anticipate a tight contest, with both desperate to kick off with a victory.

Having been in competitive action more recently in a triumphant CONCACAF Champions Cup final, we could give a slight edge to Pachuca as they’ll be at home. However, Monterrey was one of the teams that reinforced the best in the market, while the Tuzos, on the contrary, let go of some important pieces without bringing anyone remarkable. We could argue that they are the worst team now, so we’ll go for a surprise victory for the visitors.

Bet on a 2-3.

Go for a victory for the Regios at 2.963. If you bet $100 at such odds, you could get $196.3 for a total payout of $296.3.
