The Clausura had a great final clash that was excellent to wrap up every Liga MX fan’s year, and the Águilas from Club América managed to crown themselves once again over a resilient Monterrey in the final and a Cruz Azul team that looked incredible during the whole season.
Now, the teams start anew as we begin the Clausura MX 2025, but we are expecting to see good performances from the teams that managed to get into the playoffs during the last season and, of course, from both the defending champions and runner-ups.
Club America had a bad start in the last season, and they still managed to crown themselves again in the end, so we do not really know what to expect from the start.

Queretaro is looking to start this season on the right foot, as they only managed to get three wins and three draws during the last season, ending as the 17th-placed team on the board, and they really need to pick up the pace.
The thing is that they will be facing the now three times in a row defending Champ, América, who is coming in hot after recently crowning themselves once more and should be taking this chance to start the season pretty strong.
However, the champions had little time to rest, and as a result, coach Jardine assured that the Under-23 will feature this Friday. Thus, the reason why the odds point to the locals as favorites, so we’ll go for them. Querétaro may be one of the worst teams in Liga MX, but we hope they have enough to beat a group of juveniles.

Chivas had an underwhelming season, ending in the 9th spot and losing in the Play-In in the Clásico Tapatío against an Atlas team far from its best version this decade. However, in exchange, they had plenty of time to rest and reorganize for this new challenge.
Meanwhile, Santos was the bottom-placed team last season, landing two wins, four draws, and eleven losses, and we are not expecting them to do a full flip in a single off-season.
With Guadalajara being the stronger team regularly and the fact they are also hosting this clash, we expect them to start their season with a victory over Santos.

Cruz Azul fell in the semifinals against old rivals América after a regular season display that saw them break several records. It was an underwhelming end for the campaign but not something new for a team accustomed to slipping at important moments, especially if the Azulcremas are on the way.
With their last result, Los Cementeros closed their 2024 with a final and a semifinal. Will they be capable of crowning themselves in 2025? Hard to know, as it’s hard to maintain consistency in Liga MX if you are not getting prizes along the way (unless you are América).
Atlas didn’t do that bad either, as they did manage to get to the top ten during the regular season. The team started their postseason run with an excellent win in the Clásico Tapatio but didn’t manage to retain the level in the second match and were obliterated by Tijuana.
We’ll side for the Capitalinos to start the season on the right foot, but don’t discard a slip product of the hangover from their last disappointment.

Monterrey managed to reach the final of the Liguilla after landing the 5th spot in the regular season with nine wins, four draws, and four losses. Rayados was an unstable and unpredictable team most of the season, and they were unable to surprise a group from América that has plenty of experience winning trophies. In the end, they fell 3-2 in the global score.
Puebla, on the other hand, didn’t have a season to be proud of, landing four victories, two draws, and 11 losses to get the 15th place on the board, far from the Liguilla qualification places.
We are expecting a home win for Monterrey in this bout.
