The Clausura MX 2024 is in full swing and matchday 4 ratified that Monterrey, América, and Tigres are still at their best possible level of play, as they are equal at the top of the table with 10 points. Although they are not 100% effective, these three teams have shown they are firm candidates to win this Clausura 2024 Tournament.
Necaxa continues to surprise after several bad tournaments. Following their 2-2 draw against Pumas, they remained undefeated and in fourth place in the standings.
At the bottom of the table, we have Puebla, Mazatlán, Juárez, Tijuana, and Querétaro, the only teams without a win so far after four games.
There is still a long way to go in the tournament, but winning at the beginning is always very convenient, especially for teams that are not favorites to advance to the Liguilla.

Where Can I Watch it?
Santos Laguna showed their quality in this home match against one of the teams that started this tournament in the worst way, Puebla, as they achieved an excellent 3-0 victory.
The ‘Comarca’ was the favorite to win this match, for good reason. However, a little more resistance was expected from the ‘Franja.’ Statistically speaking, the game did not deserve to end the way it did, as the visitors owned the ball (59% possession) and generated up to 16 dangerous chances with six shots on goal.
However, Santos could take advantage of their many chances to put the game to bed.
The first half ended in a dull 0-0 scoreline, making us think the rest of the match would be just as close. However, Santos did not think so, as they overwhelmed Puebla mercilessly to claim a solid victory.
In the 65th minute, Harold Preciado scored his team’s first goal from the penalty spot. Then, just eight minutes later, Santos’ relentless attack led to a second goal from Jordan Carillo. Finally, Duván Vergara put the icing on the cake with the third goal in the 90th minute.

Where Can I Watch it?
One of the most entertaining games of this matchday 4 of the Clausura 2024 was between Chivas de Guadalajara and Toluca, which ended with a 3-2 victory for the former.
This match was back and forth, and against all odds, Toluca dominated the ball from start to finish, as they had 61% possession. However, Guadalajara could take advantage of every scoring chance to hurt their opponents.
The match started very intense, as in the 1st minute, Fernando Beltran Cruz scored Chivas’ first goal. However, Toluca reacted 6 minutes later with a great goal by Marcel Ruiz to equalize the score 1-1.
After that, we enjoyed an exceptional give-and-take until the 43rd minute, when Pável Pérez scored Guadalajara’s second goal. As happened at the beginning of the match, Toluca reacted immediately and, just 5 minutes later, they evened the score 2-2 thanks to Brian Garcia’s goal.
The second half was also very entertaining, as both offenses were attacking the defense of their rivals with great intensity. Finally, in the 81st minute, Ricardo Marín Sánchez brought Chivas to victory with an excellent goal.

Where Can I Watch it?
Pumas and Necaxa also gave us a match full of emotions from start to finish, as we enjoyed four spectacular goals and a lot of tension on the field. However, it ended with a 2-2 score.
The game was always on Pumas’ side, as the home side took control of the ball, generating up to 23 dangerous chances with seven shots on goal. In addition, they dominated the possession of the ball with 72%. However, their defense couldn’t contain Necaxa’s few attacks, and they succumbed on a couple of occasions.
The felines were able to take the lead in the 42nd minute with a goal by Ulises Rivas to go into halftime with a 1-0 advantage. Then, at the start of the second half, Édgar Méndez equalized in the 49th minute to give the match an additional ingredient.
However, this only got Pumas’ offense going, as just three minutes later, they managed to score 2-1 thanks to Lisandro Magallán’s goal. However, the intensity did not end there, as Necaxa took advantage of the home team’s celebrations to equalize the score just 2 minutes later with a goal by José Paradela.
That caused the duel to continue with absolute intensity, and even, in the 79th minute, Jair Cortés of Necaxa was sent off. In the end, the teams couldn’t do any more damage to each other, and the score ended 2-2.
