América took first place in the standings after an excellent victory over Toluca the previous day. On the other hand, Monterrey was unable to take advantage of the opportunity to climb to second, while Cruz Azul is back on track after two consecutive victories.

Meanwhile, Necaxa continues to surprise, as after 15 games played, they are aiming to fight for a place in the top four of the table to qualify directly to the next Liguilla.

Necaxa continues to show a solid level of play this season, and with four wins in five games, they are only two points behind the top four in the standings. In this match, they showed all their resilience and high level of play against Santos, with a convincing 2-0 victory.

The Electricos had an exceptional game despite giving away the ball to Santos.  With only 27% ball possession, they created 14 scoring chances with six direct shots on goal.

The match got off to a decent start, considering all the ball control problems of the home team. However, in the 40th minute, Ricardo Saul Monreal scored 1-0, which gave them peace of mind.

Then, at the start of the second half, Braian Samudio scored the definitive 2-0 to put the game to bed.

An intense match was played at the Miguel Hidalgo “Huracán” Stadium between Pachuca and Chivas, but although it was full of scoring chances, we only had five shots on goal.

The match started with a back-and-forth game with no danger from either side. Pachuca tried to make an impact at home, but Guadalajara’s defense completely prevented any approaches.

Finally, after several scoring chances from both sides, after a Chivas siege, Jorge Berlanga scored an own goal to give the visitors the lead in this match.

Then, in the second half, Chivas played a completely defensive game and thus prevented Pachuca from equalizing the score.

In the most interesting match of the day, Club América demonstrated their intentions to be absolute champions of Liga MX, as they achieved a resounding victory over Toluca, their historic rival in Mexican soccer and contender for first place in the table, with a score of 5-1.

América played a counter-attacking game, which made Toluca’s defense look weak.

It all started with Diego Valdés Contreras’ goal in minute 9′, which gave the team a lot of confidence at the beginning of the match. Then, in minute 14, Juan Pablo Domínguez equalized the actions, but this would only last a few seconds, as Henry Martín gave América the lead in minute 15.

Things did not end there, as Diego Valdés scored 3-1 in minute 24′, with his second goal of the night.

With the score at 3-1, América had the game in the bag, but that was not to be, as Julián Andrés Quiñones scored a brace in the 73rd and 82nd minutes to put the game away. In addition, this victory sent América to the top of the table, three points ahead of their closest pursuers.

Finally, one of the most entertaining matches of the day was between Monterrey and Tigres, both of whom left their souls on the field to try to take the three points, but the match ended with a remarkable 3-3.

Tigres started the match with an early surprise, as Juan Brunetta scored the team’s first goal at minute 1′. Then, 7 minutes later, Luis Romo scored the 1-1. After several scoring chances on both sides, Tigres finally managed to score their second goal at minute 45+2′, to go to the break with an advantage on the scoreboard.

Then, at the start of the second half, Juan Brunetta scored his second goal to give Tigres a 3-1 lead. At minute 61′, Gerardo Arteaga started Monterrey’s comeback to make the score 2-3, while, at minute 90+10′, seconds before the end of the match, they managed to score the definitive 3-3 with Germán Berterame.
