Despite losing 1-0 at home to Atlético San Luis, Chivas had enough points to secure a spot in the Play-In, keeping their title hopes alive in Mexican soccer.

The match’s only goal came in second-half stoppage time when Ronaldo Luis Nájera sent a cross to the far post, allowing Rodrigo Dourado to score while under pressure. Guadalajara had no time to respond.

San Luis secured a direct berth in the Liga MX quarterfinals with 30 points, while Chivas finished in ninth place with 25 points, having recorded just four wins in their last ten matches.

If anyone thought reigning champions Club América would easily win at Toluca, the Diablos made a bold statement with a 4-0 rout, sending the Águilas to the dreaded Play-In.

Just eight minutes into the game, Jesús Gallardo capitalized on a rebound from the opposing goalkeeper to score the opener. Fifty minutes later, Alexis Vega assisted Jesús Angulo for the second goal, and Paulinho added a third in the 72nd minute following a ball recovered by Gallardo. The final goal came from Luan, who pounced on a save deflection by Luis Malagón.

Toluca finished second with 35 points and remained unbeaten at home, with seven wins and two draws. América, with 27 points, heads to the Play-In to fight for a spot in the next round of Mexican soccer.

Two of the top favorites this season in Mexico, Cruz Azul, and Tigres, faced off at the Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes, ending in a 1-1 draw.

What made this game particularly exciting was that both goals came at the end. Nicolás Ibáñez put the visiting team ahead with a penalty, while in the 90+8′, Ángel Sepúlveda leveled the score with a header off a cross from Ignacio Rivero on the right.

Cruz Azul finished as the leader with 42 points despite drawing in the last two rounds. Tigres, meanwhile, lost their hold on second place and ended up third with 34 points, just one behind Toluca.

Despite their 2-1 home win over Puebla, other results didn’t go Tijuana’s way, leaving them in Play-In positions.

The winning goals came in the second half. In the 60th minute, Efraín Álvarez sent in a cross that Joe Corona converted into a goal, and at 90+13’, Carlos González scored from another cross. This allowed them to come back from behind, as Puebla had been leading since the 8th minute with a goal from Emanuel Gularte.

The Xolos finished seventh with 29 points, while Puebla ended 15th with just 14 points.
