Toluca achieved a great victory this weekend over Querétaro to move up to second place in the tournament with 25 points.
The Gallos Blancos started very well, with several opportunities and even a goal disallowed for offside. However, little by little, their fuel was running out, and at the end of the first half, the Diablos Rojos managed to score the only goal of the match after a shot by Jesús Gallardo that Paulinho managed to control and then score for his eighth goal of the tournament, increasing his lead at the top of the scoring charts.
In the second half, Toluca was far superior and had several chances, but Guillermo Allison and the post denied the second goal to a team that has already practically qualified for the playoffs. Querétaro is second to last in the tournament with only nine points.

Cruz Azul continues to prove that it is the best team in the tournament and achieved a 1-2 victory at the house of Puebla.
The Máquina leads on all fields, and this weekend was no exception, reaching its tenth victory. They could had a bigger lead, but goalkeeper Miguel Jiménez saved a penalty kick from Jorge Sánchez when the score was still 0-0.
The first goal came through Giorgos Giakoumakis from a corner kick that was first headed by Gonzalo Piovi and then by the Greek, who scored his sixth goal. The striker had been the one to whom the penalty had been awarded earlier.
That goal was scored at 45+4, but three minutes later, still in the first half, a serious mistake by Piovi gave the ball to Luis Quiñones, and the Colombian scored in the corner for the 1-1 tie.
In the second half, Cruz Azul took the lead again, this time with a penalty goal scored by Carlos Rotondi, who also scored his sixth goal.
With this result, the Cementeros remain in first place with 31 points and are very close to qualifying directly for the playoffs, while Puebla is 13th, six points from tenth place.

A new edition of the Clasico Regiomontano was played, and the victory went to the home team.
Monterrey came out with everything they had in front of their fans and managed to tip the scales in their favor very early on. Just five minutes in, 21-year-old Iker Fimbres, a youngster, picked up a rebound after Germán Berterame’s shot hit the post to make it 1-0 and score his first goal as a professional.
In the 26th minute, Sergio Canales scored a wonderful goal from a free kick. Goalkeeper Nahuel Guzmán thought that the Spaniard was going to assist his teammates and came out a little, but the shot went straight into the goal and over the Argentine, who stretched as long as he was but could not avoid it.
Ten minutes later, Rayados made it 3-0 after a foul by Guzmán on his compatriot Lucas Ocampos. The same Argentine player was in charge of kicking it, and he did it without seeing, making his goal even more impressive.
Everything seemed to be settled, but Tigres’ spirit appeared, and before the end of the first half, they managed to close the gap and make the score 3-2. Guido Pizarro scored at 44′ after a cross from the right by Juan Brunetta, and André-Pierre Gignac scored from the penalty spot in the last play. It was a great first half, and there were still 45 minutes to go.
The second half began with many emotions on both sides until the star of the night appeared: Iker Jareth Fimbres Ochoa. The youngster, who came out of the club’s youth team in his second game as a starter in the league, scored a great goal with a mid-distance shot that went into the corner of the net.
After that, emotions and even fights continued, but the scoreboard remained unchanged, and Monterrey won the derby. Both teams are now tied for third place with 24 points.
