Why Bet on América?
Undoubtedly, one of the surprises of the first matchday was the defeat of the reigning champion, América, against an Atlético San Luis team that does not look like a contender. Even though the Águilas took the lead after just five minutes with a goal by Henry Martín, San Luis managed to turn the score around with a brace by Argentine Mateo Klimowicz.
In this debut, we did not see the overwhelming América that we saw in the last tournament. Although they had more ball possession, they were not superior to their opponents, and it was an even match, so coach André Jardine will have to adjust the nuts and bolts to get this team back on track.
Among those who made their debut, goalkeeper Rodolfo Cota had a good performance despite the two goals conceded. However, Luis Malagón is expected to return this weekend. On the other hand, Erick Sánchez came on in the 60th minute and also performed well. The team’s absentees were Sebastián Cáceres and Brian Rodríguez, who are with Uruguay in the Copa América and will also be absent this Friday. Chilean Diego Valdés is in doubt after an injury with the Chilean National Team, while Israel Reyes is ready to return to the defense.
It should be remembered that América will not play this semester at the Azteca stadium, which is being remodeled for the 2026 World Cup, and will most likely rotate in different stadiums and cities. For this game, it will be at the Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes in the Mexican capital, where Cruz Azul plays its local matches.
Why Bet on Querétaro?
Querétaro, who last year managed to reach the Play-In on the day of the tournament, hopes to make a better showing this Apertura MX 2024 but got off on the wrong foot. At home, they lost 1-2 to Tijuana. Samuel Sosa scored for the Gallos Blancos, while Carlos González and Domingo Blanco did it for the Xolos. They will now have to make up lost ground.
It was not a good match for Querétaro, which was outplayed by its rival throughout the game, and the goal by the Venezuelan Sosa came from a mistake by the opposing defense. In addition, Guatemalan striker Rubio Rubin was injured in the first half after a blow to his ribs. Possibly the only positive news was the return of Ecuadorian Jonathan Perlaza, who was coming off a long injury and had not played since August last year.
All the new reinforcements made their debuts but did not stand out. Coach Mauro Gerk needs, above all, that the team improve in definition to take advantage of the few chances they have in the matches.
Final Betting Analysis: América vs. Querétaro
The last time these two teams met was on January 20 of this year, and América won 2-0 with goals from Richard Sánchez and Julián Quiñones. The Águilas have two wins in a row and a seven-game unbeaten streak. Querétaro has not won since August 16, 2020 (4-1) and away since 2017.
The numbers at Gambyl Exchange have América as the favorite. Their Moneyline shows 1.45, Querétaro has 6.53, and the draw is at 4.5.
América comes wounded after that first defeat, and despite not being at home, they will count on their fans and look for a victory against a weak Querétaro. Go for a 3-1.
Go for a win for América. If you bet $100 at 1.45, you will gain $45 for a total payout of $145.
