PGA Championship 2023 Preview and Betting Odds

The 2023 PGA Championship will be the 105th edition of the event. The 72-hole stroke play tournament will be form May 18th to 21th on the East Course of Oak Hill Country Club in Pittsford, New York. It is one of the four main golf tournaments for men.

It was formerly played in mid-August on the third weekend before Labor Day weekend, serving as the fourth and final men’s major of the golf season.

Since 2019 the tournament is played in May on the weekend before Memorial Day, as the season’s second major following the Masters Tournament in April.

It is an official money event on the PGA Tour, European Tour, and Japan Golf Tour, with a purse of $11 million for the 100th edition in 2018.

The PGA Championship is one of two majors that welcomes all past winners, along with the Masters.

Thus, players like Shaun Micheel (2003 winner) and Padraig Harrington (2008) are expected to be in the field this 2023, like more recent champions like Jason Day (2015) and Jimmy Walker (2016).

In all, 11 past champions are slated to tee off from Oak Hill Country Club when the PGA Championship 2023 begins on Thursday. In addition, the two biggest 2023 PGA Championship favorites have never won this tournament before, Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler.

Still, they are co-favorites in the latest 2023 PGA Championship odds.

Eight golfers are also decently close, including Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson among the 2023 PGA Championship contenders.
