2024 Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters Preview and Free Picks

The Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters is one of the most prestigious tournaments on the ATP Tour and the first major clay-court event of the season. Held annually in April at the Monte Carlo Country Club in the picturesque surroundings of Monaco, this Masters 1000 event attracts the best men’s tennis players from around the world.

First held in 1897, the Monte Carlo Masters has a long and storied history. Past champions include tennis legends such as Bjorn Borg, Ivan Lendl, Mats Wilander, Gustavo Kuerten, Juan Carlos Ferrero, and Rafael Nadal. The tournament is currently sponsored by Rolex and offers total prize money of more than 5.9 million euros.

Played on clay courts (red clay), the Monte Carlo Masters is the only significant clay tournament played before the French Open (Roland Garros) at the end of May. It offers players the opportunity to get used to playing on clay after the hard court season. As the first major clay-court event, Monte Carlo is seen as a key tournament to assess which players are in good shape ahead of Roland Garros.

2024 Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters – Betting picks

The Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters 2024 should provide plenty of excitement and drama on the red clay courts along the French Riviera. With Novak Djokovic returning to compete and Rafael Nadal looking to extend his record number of titles, the field will be as full as ever.

Others like Stefanos Tsitsipas and Jannik Sinner will be looking to break through and secure their first Monte Carlo crown. Meanwhile, Andrey Rublev will try to defend his title won in the 2023 edition. Other top contenders such as Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, and Holger Rune could also make deep runs.

The early clay-court season often offers surprises, so don’t be surprised if a dark horse emerges from the field to make a statement. With so many of the top players in action, surprises and dramatic matches are inevitable.

Djokovic is the strong contender to win this tournament, having done so on a couple of occasions and having won 20 Grand Slam championship trophies during his career. Tsitsipas has also been at a great level playing on clay, let’s remember that he also won the 2021 edition of this prestigious tournament. Casper Ruud, on the other hand, is a specialist on this type of surface, while Zverev will try to use his powerful serve and his extraordinary groundstroke to try to pull off a surprise.

One way or another, we expect an exceptional tournament, with our cattle chip placed on the current #1 in the world, Novak Djokovic.
