The FedEx Cup Fall is nearing its conclusion, and the penultimate tournament is the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, which will help determine the top 125 players for next season and qualifiers for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Genesis Invitational.
The tournament will take place at the Port Royal Golf Course, one of the world’s most scenic courses. At 6,842 yards, it is one of the shortest on the PGA Tour, and the rolling terrain presents a challenge for most players.
While much of the spotlight will be on the DP World Tour Championship, those aiming to improve their rankings in Bermuda are set to put on a great show.

2024 Butterfield Bermuda Championship
Among the standout names in the Bermuda tournament is Seamus Power, who recently finished 13th at the ZOZO Championship. The Irishman holds the 54th position in the FedEx Fall standings and has one top-10 finish this year.
Most notably, he won this tournament in 2022, beating Thomas Detry with a score of 19-under-par, marking his last victory on the PGA Tour.
Another strong contender is 29-year-old American Maverick McNealy, who has had a solid 2024, finishing in the top 10 five times this season. Currently ranked 53rd in the FedEx Fall standings, McNealy is still seeking his first professional title, a goal he hopes to achieve here.
His ninth-place finish at The Players Championship shows promise, and this tournament could be the turning point in his golf career.
The third notable candidate is Canadian Mackenzie Hughes, who, at 33, aims to end a two-year title drought. His last victory came in October 2022 at the Sanderson Farms Championship, where he edged out Sepp Straka.
Hughes finished 16th at The Open Championship this year, has secured five top-10 finishes, and sits at 51st in the FedEx Fall standings.
2024 Butterfield Bermuda Championship Outside picks
Ben Griffin, 28, is another golfer seeking his first PGA Tour title and aiming to secure a spot in the top tournaments for next year. Griffin has achieved four top-10 finishes this season and is currently ranked 58th in the FedEx Fall standings.
Doug Ghim, the same age as Griffin, is also chasing his first championship, despite having turned professional in 2018. This year, Ghim’s best showing was a 16th-place finish at The Players Championship, though his results haven’t made a significant impact.
Another player to watch is the seasoned Lucas Glover. At 44, Glover remains a notable figure in golf, having won the U.S. Open in 2009 and last year’s FedEx St. Jude Championship.
Finally, there’s defending champion Camilo Villegas. Although he’s not among the favorites for the 2024 trophy, his experience can’t be dismissed. Villegas won the 2023 title with a score of 24-under-par, defeating Alex Norén in the final round. For the Colombian, this marked his fifth PGA Tour victory and his first since the 2014 Wyndham Championship. However, in 2024, the 42-year-old has yet to finish in the top 10 of any tournament.
