The PGA Tour 2024 is coming to an end, and this time, we will have the first edition of a tournament, the Black Desert Championship, which is the third event of the FedEx Cup Fall and marks the return of the tour to the state of Utah.
The tournament will be played starting October 10 at the Black Desert Resort Golf Course in Ivins, inaugurated in June of last year. It is a par 71, 7371-yard course.

2024 Black Desert Championship Top Contenders
Golf returns to the state of Utah, and American Keith Mitchell appears as the favorite to win the title. The 32-year-old golfer, 2019 champion of The Honda Classic, is coming off a third-place finish this weekend at the Sanderson Farms Championship, just one stroke behind Kevin Yu and Beau Hossler.
In addition to this third-place finish, Mitchell posted three other Top 10s this 2024 at the RBC Canadian Open, Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches, and The American Express, and in the two tournaments prior to the Sanderson Farms Championship, he posted a 12th-place finish.
Another top contender is Beau Hossler, who tied for first place this weekend at the Sanderson Farms Championshipbut lost in the playoff to China’s Kevin Yu. That would have been the first professional title for Hossler, who had already lost another playoff a few years ago and has two more subtitles.
In 2024, he has two more top 10s, adding to a fourth place in the Myrtle Beach Classic and a sixth place in the Farmers Insurance Open at the beginning of the year.
Finally, we cannot forget Seamus Power. The Irishman arrives at this tournament as the best placed in the ranking, being 53rd in the FedEx Fall Cup and achieving his qualification thanks to having won the Butterfield Bermuda Championship 2022, which was the second title of his career.
In 2024, he has been improving and obtained good results in his last two tournaments, finishing 10th in the FedEx St. Jude Championship and 11th in the Sanderson Farms Championship.
Outside picks
Canadian Nick Taylor must be taken into account. The 36-year-old golfer is one of the few who has already won a tournament in 2024, winning the WM Phoenix Open in February, the fourth PGA Tour title of his career.
