Atalanta were playing for their place in the next Europa League in this final game of the season when they hosted Monza at the Gewiss Stadium. Everything seemed to indicate that it would be a really exciting match, and so it was; it did not disappoint for a single minute.

AC Milan completed this final round of Serie A matches with a crushing 3-1 win over Hellas Verona, which left the visitors on the brink of relegation. However, this victory was not enough for Milan to displace Inter, as the Neriazzurri also won on matchday 38.
