Super Bowl

An incomplete weekend has ended in the Premier League, where the few matches that have taken place have had no surprises and keep Arsenal as the only leader of the standings, with Manchester City and Tottenham as their closest pursuers.

Brighton and Manchester United are still at the top of the table, but let’s remember that they have one less game played, which was suspended on matchday 8, after the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

Chelsea and Liverpool seem to have woken up this season, and it is expected that in the coming weeks they will increase their performance and return to being those competitive teams that we are used to seeing in recent years.

Newcastle drew again, and they have now accumulated 5 draws so far this season. Everton got their first win of the season after cutting a string of 4 consecutive draws. Meanwhile, Leicester City continues in a terrible moment, with 6 defeats and 1 draw in the 7 matches they have played.

Goodison Park witnessed Everton’s great victory last Sunday, September 18 against West Ham, with a score of 1-0. The match was dramatic from the start, with both teams trying to get close to the opponent’s area, but the efforts were not enough.

From start to finish, the match had an alternating dominance, with West Ham dominating at times and Everton at times. But the only time the ball reached the back of the net for either team was in the second half, specifically in the 53rd minute, when Neal Maupay received a pass from Iwobi in the front of the box, and he took a spectacular right-footed shot that was unstoppable for West Ham’s goalkeeper, Fabianski.

From this point on, West Ham took control of the game and set out to level the score, but they were unable to do so. The closest they came to an equalizer was when Benrahma shot straight at the Everton goalpost.

The win gives Everton a much-needed boost, and they are now in 13th place in the table, after cutting a run of 4 consecutive draws. While West Ham is now in the relegation zone with 4 points from 21 possible.

Result: West Ham (0) – (1) Everton
