Super Bowl

The 19th matchday of the Premier League has just wrapped up, and it has been three weeks after the Return to action.

It seems like most teams are picking up the pace once again and things are going well for the soccer fans who want exciting matches.

In this matchday 19, things went pretty much by the book, the top teams managed to keep themselves busy racking up points, and what was a clash between the top teams ended in a draw with no scoring.

There were no upsets to worry about on the top of the leaderboard, but from our predictions to the roundup, we misplaced the Draw.

Arsenal fought Newcastle to a stalemate, which keeps Arsenal on top with a good margin but has allowed Manchester United to catch up with Newcastle in the 3rd spot with their recent victory.

Manchester City and Tottenham got back in the winning column with their performances, so they are closing into higher spots.

A goalless draw against Newcastle United shortened Arsenal’s lead at the top of the Premier League to 5 points, albeit having fished the last matchday 7 points away from Manchester City. They need to demonstrate more composure than that shown by their frantic manager Mikel Arteta.

There is no doubt that Arteta has done an excellent job in transforming, transitioning, and re-molding Arsenal and maybe he believes his explosive behavior drives his team on.

But, frankly, he looks like he needs to calm down and encourage his players to play because when they did they were superior to Newcastle on the offense.

In what was a tempestuous encounter, Arsenal failed to score in a Premier League match for the first time in 17 games as they struggled to create quality chances against Eddie Howe’s team despite bossing possession.

It was Newcastle’s superb defense that frustrated the gunners in their attempts to score.

The result further strengthened Newcastle’s case for a top-four finish as they defended their box expertly and protected their goalkeeper Nick Pope.

So after a long and heated encounter, the teams had a 0-0 Draw in the Emirates Stadium.

Chelsea is a difficult club to manage for even the arch-pragmatists who have sat in the dugout over the last two decades, but for Graham Potter, one of the great coaching idealists of the era, this season is spiraling out of control quicker than he might have expected.

Many have lost to Pep Guardiola’s great champions of four of the last five seasons, but at home, on this January night Potter needed a win more than most.

His triple substitution after the City goal from Riyad Mahrez in the second half saw the teenagers Lewis Hall, 18, and Omar Hutchinson, 19, come on – the latter for his senior debut – as well as Conor Gallagher.

After half-time, it felt as if there were to be no further mistakes tolerated by Guardiola.

The intensity was that much greater and from the right, it was Mahrez who began the switch of play to the left for the goal.

Mahrez scored at the back post and suddenly the challenge for Chelsea had become immense.

It was an inexperienced Chelsea side that finished the game, ending with a 0-1 score that favored Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

Resounding 90-minute performances are becoming a regular occurrence for Manchester United of late, as Erik ten Hag has this Red Devils side turning into high gear.

The win widened the gap between fourth-placed Man United above fifth-placed Tottenham to five points, solidifying United’s position as a serious top-four contender.

The only dark cloud for United was an injury to Donny van de Beek just before halftime.

Still, his replacement Alejandro Garnacho was spectacular after coming on and could be in line for even more minutes down the road.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, were well beaten, continuing to show frailties both in transition and defending set-pieces.

They remain in 15th position, still just two points above the drop zone, with everyone behind them holding a game in hand.

Casemiro put the hosts in front at Old Trafford by halftime, and a pair of strikes from Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford saw out a comfortable 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Tuesday.

When darkness threatens to consume Tottenham Hotspur, Harry Kane is a reliable beacon of light.

His two goals within five minutes transformed this game and banished any lingering unease about his World Cup penalty miss.

He was imperious, and this was the night when he and his side remembered how to have fun.

Kane’s goals against a ragged Crystal Palace took him within two of Jimmy Greaves’ all-time scoring record for Tottenham, an astonishing feat for a player still in his twenties.

His manager Antonio Conte is unsurprised and lauded his captain’s all-around contribution.

Before the game, Conte claimed he had been working so hard to turn around Spurs’ season that he was not sleeping.

This should be enough for a few sound nights. Patrick Vieira may have a harder time dropping off after watching a promising start disintegrate into heavy defeat.

His Palace team crumpled alarmingly after going behind and looking in need of either recruits or ideas this month.

He lamented a lack of aggression in defense and cutting edge in attack.

For this match, the Spurs shattered their opponents with a 4 – 0 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
