The Matchday 8 in the Premier League has wrapped up, and things are quite exciting, as the top spots of the scoreboard have shifted around.
The Gunners got a two-match win streak, at the perfect time, as Manchester City’s two losses left the way open for the top spot to change hands.
With now two new leaders fighting for first place, and the rest of the scoreboard keeping pretty much their place after a lot of draws, things should get more and more exciting as we go.
Let’s break down what took place on the field this last matchday.

Micky van de Ven struck his first goal for the club as 10-man Tottenham won 1-0 at Luton Town to move two points clear at the top of the Premier League table. The Lilywhites flew out of the traps and could have been three up inside seven minutes, but Richarlison (twice) and Pedro Porro failed to make the most of big openings.
Luton slowly weathered the ferocious storm and after Tom Lockyer had a goal chalked off for a foul in the build-up, the home team’s hopes were boosted on the stroke of halftime when Yves Bissouma was shown a second yellow card for simulation.
Elijah Adebayo contrived to fluff his lines from close-range following the restart and it would prove significant as the 10-man visitors stole in front when Van de Ven stroked home James Maddison’s cut back on 52 minutes. Luton threatened throughout the second half but Jacob Brown and Alfie Doughty couldn’t find the finish as Ange Postecoglou’s men hung on.

Mathias Jensen’s first-half goal had put Thomas Frank’s team on course for a first away win over the Red Devils since 1937, but Scott McTominay’s stoppage-time double earned the hosts all three points in remarkable circumstances.
The win eases some of the pressure on Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, whose side were minutes away from losing three consecutive home league games for the first time since 1979.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank said “football can be brutal” after the Bees slipped to a dramatic defeat, adding he “would still have been devastated” with a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.

Where Can I Watch?
Mohamed Salah scored twice in six minutes at Brighton but Liverpool were unable to claim a win in an error-strewn 2-2 draw at the Amex Stadium.
With a penalty and a badly given free kick, the Seagulls equalized the game and kept an excellent record against Liverpool, who has seen in the south-coast team a ‘Beite Noire’ in the last few seasons.
With this, the Reds failed again to capitalize on Manchester City’s bad run of form, and are out of the first-place draw between the North London teams. Meanwhile, Brighton keeps dreaming of having a second excellent season in a row and won a massive point.

Where Can I Watch?
Gabriel Martinelli scored a dramatic late winner as Arsenal earned a statement victory over defending Premier League champions Manchester City at Emirates Stadium. A largely disappointing game was given a stunning finale four minutes from time just as both sides looked certain to have to settle for a point.
Making his return from a hamstring injury as a substitute, Martinelli’s strike deflected in off Nathan Ake to earn Arsenal a first league win over City since December 2015. It was a moment that sparked wild celebrations and put the Gunners level on points with north London rivals Tottenham at the top of the table.
The biggest talking point until the goal was how City’s Mateo Kovacic somehow stayed on the pitch after late tackles on both Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice. City had the better early opportunities when Rice cleared off the line from Josko Gvardiol before Ake scooped a shot over the bar from close range.
Arsenal keeper David Raya, who had an uncertain time, was twice almost caught in possession on his line by Julian Alvarez. But it was the home side who were elated as Martinelli, introduced off the bench for the second half, made that vital contribution.
