The 26th round of the English Premier League has ended, and this only means fewer games are left for the teams to reach the end of the season.
Right now, the fight continues between Arsenal and Manchester City for the top of the table, with five points separating these two teams now with the same number of games played.
There is no doubt that matchday 26 was marked by Liverpool’s thrashing of Manchester United. Unfortunately for them, what was shaping up to be a challenging and close match was a catastrophe for the Red Devils. The team led by Jürgen Klopp took the crushing victory with a score of 7-0. In addition, the defeats of Tottenham and Newcastle pushed the team into fifth place, and they are now only three points behind fourth place.
Here is a summary of the best matches of the 26th Premier League matchday.

Where Can I Watch it?
Premier League leaders Arsenal came from 2-0 down to dominate 19th-placed Bournemouth 3-2 on Saturday and restore the gap to Manchester City to five points.
Goals from Thomas Partey (’62), Ben White (’70), and Reiss Nelson (’90+7) helped Arsenal turn around goals from Philip Billing (‘1) and Argentine Marcos Senesi (’57).
This is the fifth match that Arsenal managed to win after starting from behind, being also the team with the most points after starting from behind (15). Also, Arsenal had not turned around a 2-0 deficit since February 2012, eleven years ago, with Mikel Arteta as a player.

Where Can I Watch it?
Chelsea beat Leeds 1-0, and if they do not start to improve immediately, they will make good the saying bread for today, hunger for tomorrow. Graham Potter’s team ended a six-game winless streak with a solitary goal scored by Fofana but could not correct their poor play and defensive disorganization.
The truth is that Chelsea’s play looks more and more worrying with each passing game. If they won, it was almost a miracle because Leeds deserved a draw and didn’t get it due to bad luck. So they would do well to forget about trying to qualify for the Champions League, and they should be happy if they get into Europe because, with the level of play they have today, that is mission impossible.
Chelsea is not waking up and has less and less chance of securing a place in European competitions. However, they are still alive in the Champions League, and it seems the team is clinging to it.
Result: Chelsea (1) – (0) Leeds
Premier League Matchday 26 – Preview – Manchester City vs. Newcastle – Info

Manchester City +142
Newcastle +212

Where Can I Watch it?
Manchester City is already within striking distance of the lead. After Arsenal beat Everton (4-0) midweek, the Citizens are five points behind the Gunners with the same games played. That is the gap they need to close in the remaining 13 matchdays.
At the Etihad Stadium, they closed the gap with a 2-0 win over an uncomfortable and fading Newcastle. One win in the last eight games has taken them out of the Champions League race. The Europa League is becoming a more realistic objective for a Newcastle side that had just lost the Carabao Cup and suffered the blow against Manchester City on matchday 26.
Goals from Phil Foden and Portugal’s Bernardo Silva underpinned Manchester City’s 2-0 win over Newcastle, increasing the pressure on Arsenal in the head-to-head battle between the two clubs for the Premier League lead.
Result: Manchester City (2) – (0) Newcastle

Where Can I Watch it?
History has been made in the Premier League, but not in a way that the most popular team in English football would have liked as the Red Devils were completely obliterated at Anfield, and even that is an understatement. At the beginning of the match is fair to say that things were quite tight. We could even argue that the visitors were better as they were close to opening the scores.
However, the match tempo would change rapidly after Cody Gakpo opened the scoring charts at the end of the first half. From then on it would be a nightmare for Manchester United as the front three of Liverpool achieved doubles and Roberto Firmino put the cherry on the top of the cake.
This kind of crumbling was shocking as, for many, this is the best Red Devils team we have seen since the Alex Ferguson era, and now we should wonder if they can mentally recover from this, as they did from the 6-3 against City at the beginning of the season.
Result: Liverpool (7) – (0) Manchester United
