Inter Miami failed to win for the second game in a row, drawing at home with a weak St. Louis City MLS matchday 17, so their lead in the East is in doubt until Cincinnati matches their number of games played. 

NY Red Bulls are getting into a better competitive rhythm in their conference and beat Orlando at home, while Toronto let a good away lead escape and drew with DC United. 

Minnesota United recalled their winning ways, took all three points from Sporting KC, and continued to look like a strong contender in the West.

The New York Red Bulls had a tough match at home but were able to pull through with a 1-0 win over Orlando City. 

The only goal of the match came from John Tolkin in the 38th minute, after taking a free kick that goalkeeper Pedro Gallese could only graze with his left hand. 

Thanks to this victory, the Red Bulls reached 29 points and remain in fourth place in the East, maintaining their unbeaten home record. Orlando remained 11th with 17 points, with three games without a win.

Inter Miami and St. Louis City played out one of the most attractive MLS matches of the weekend, drawing 3-3 at Chase Stadium. 

Chris Durkin gave the visitors the lead in the 15th minute with a right-footed shot from mid-range, but 10 minutes later Lionel Messi equalized when he fired home from Jordi Alba’s pass just outside the six-yard box. Indiana Vassilev scored for St. Louis in the 41st minute with a shot at the near post, and later Luis Suárez got on the scoresheet after another assist from Alba (45+1′). 

The Uruguayan then had bad luck when he scored in the 68th minute. However, Alba capped his magical night by making it 3-3 in the 85th minute, beating the goalkeeper in the box. 

Miami holds the top spot in the East with 35 points but is two games ahead of Cincinnati (33). St. Louis is 11th with 17 points in the West.

In the capital of the United States, there was also a match full of goals, DC United’s 2-2 draw with Toronto. 

The Canadian team could be said to have lost two points, as they were 0-2 up after 32 minutes. At 2′ Derick Etienne pushed in a cross from Federico Bernardeschi, and the Italian celebrated the second with a well-placed shot at the far post (32′). But the home side responded in the second half, pulling one back through Theodore Ku-DiPietro (79′) and equalizing with a penalty from Mateusz Klich in the 90+5′. 

Toronto was left with 24 points and its third match without a win. DC United is out of the Play-In, with only 19 points.

Minnesota United made their home ground respected and defeated Sporting Kansas City 3-1, getting back to winning ways. 

In the 33rd minute, Tani Oluwaseyi headed in a cross from Bongokuhle Hlongwane. In the 67th minute, Robin Lod scored the second with a first-time shot after a pass from Oluwaseyi, while Kevin Arriaga scored the third when he shot almost wide after a bad rebound from the rival defense (83′). Johnny Russell scored for the visitors in the 86th minute. 

Minnesota is third with 28 points, leaving behind two matches without a win, and Sporting closes the West with only 11 points, having lost seven consecutive matches.
