Round 1 of the expected Mexican league started last Saturday with the opening match between Necaxa and Atlético San Luís, which ended with a 3-2 victory for the visitors.
Nine games were scheduled for this first round, but two of them had to be postponed (Mazatlán vs Leon and Atlas vs Toluca). The return of Mexican football came in a very intense way, with three games having at least one player sent off during the 90 minutes, and with violent situations maintaining the country at vile.
The highlight of the round was Pachuca, champion of the Apertura tournament, who scored a 5-1 defeat of Puebla. Tigres also stood out by beating Santos Laguna by 3-0, even playing away from home.

Tigres showed what they came for and opened the scoring at 7′ of the first half, with defender Diego Reyes. The game went to half-time with a minimal victory for Tigres, but just after 17′ minutes of the second half, Eduardo Aguirre (Santos Laguna) was sent off for violent conduct.
Tigres increased the score with top scorer Gignac and closed the account with Luís Quinõnes in the last minute of the match. The visitors did not feel the pressure from Santos fans and won with merit.
