Luis Romo Barrón is a Mexican soccer player born on June 5, 1995, in Ahome, a town in Sinaloa, Mexico. Currently, he plays for Monterrey in the Mexican Soccer League in the Midfielder position.
First Years
His beginnings were in the Querétaro Futbol Club; a team with which he signed his first contract as a professional and remained during the beginning of his career. Although his first team was the inferior team of Cruz Azul; Luis Romo only lasted a few months and went to Querétaro.
His first important games were in 2012, where he debuted with the Querétaro U-17 team. Then, thanks to the fact that his progress was remarkable, Romo was climbing in the different divisions of the club. Finally, he became part of the team in the second division of Mexican soccer.
His official debut as a professional was in 2018, when his team played the group stage of the Copa MX against Monarcas Morelia, in this match Romo played 90 minutes in his team’s 3-1 victory. That same year, he made his debut in the Mexican first division; on the first day of the championship against Atlas.
After 3 seasons wearing the Querétaro shirt, Luis Romo makes his signing for Cruz Azul official in 2020, to play in the Clausura tournament that season. His debut with the Cruz Azul team was on matchday 2 of the championship, a match where his team lost 1-2 against Atlético San Luis.

Thanks to his excellent performances in the seasons he played with Querétaro, Luis Romo earned the right to represent his country, when Tata Martino called him up for the CONCACAF Nations League, making his debut against the Panama team playing the 90 minutes.
Later, leaving pleasant participation both in the games and in the training sessions, Jaime Lozano included him in the list of soccer players who would represent Mexico in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, in which he had very good participation, since, in the 6 games he played, he managed to score 2 goals.
