Where Can I Watch?
Everyone already expected a very balanced game between Cruz Azul and Atlas in this Liga MX Playoff match. Cruz Azul had finished 8th, while their opponent was 9th, with a difference of just 3 points.
With only one chance and the need to win to advance, Atlas was surgical in its strategy and beat Cruz Azul in the giant Azteca Stadium. Brian Lozano scored the winning goal at 2′ of the first half, allowing the strategy of defending and counterattacking his opponent for the remainder of the game.
Cruz Azul had more possession of the ball and had more shots at goal, but failed to overcome the defensive barrier of their opponent. With the defeat, the regret and the feeling that they could have done better in front of their fans remain. Atlas advances and will face Chivas, in two leg games for the quarterfinals.

Where Can I Watch it?
Pachuca and Santos Laguna had the liveliest game of the Playoffs. The eight-goal thriller was a spectacle with all the letters but ended with the tragic elimination of the host team.
The Tuzos, who won the Apertura Tournament last year, went to halftime winning 3-2 but allowed La Comarca to react and found themselves facing a tense and complicated penalty shootout.
Santos’ players converted all the kicks they made, while two of Pachuca’s shots missed and gave the opponent the lead. Los Laguneros will now face Monterrey, while Pachuca will still have the chance to be the overall champions of Mexico, having won the Apertura.
Liguilla Playoffs Roundup – Tigres 1 – 0 Puebla
When:
Sunday, May 7th – 09:10 pm ET at the Universitario stadium.
Moneyline odds:
Tigres -193
Puebla +510
Draw offs:
+340
Where Can I Watch?
Tigres had a hard time advancing to the quarterfinals as they faced Puebla willing to defend and fight for every ball. The meager score explains the game that the Felines made: many shots off target and wasted opportunities.
Sebastián Cordova scored the goal of the game in the 56th minute, but Puebla could have equalized in the 74th minute, had it not been for Diego de Buen’s negligence in the penalty kick, when he sent the ball over the crossbars.
After the penalty was missed by their opponent, Tigres started to play more cautiously, keeping possession of the ball and managing the 1-0 result until the end. The Regiomontanos will face Toluca in the quarterfinals, in a match that will certainly take the fans’ breath away.

Fox Sports and Fanatiz
Liga MX always brings a lot of surprises when it comes to the Playoffs. Atlético San LuÃs, who were the second-worst team to qualify, eliminated León, winning 3-1 showing that they can go far in the competition.
All 4 goals in the game were scored in the first half, but the score is misleading, as San Luis’ best player was goalkeeper Andrés Sanchez, who made at least 7 amazing saves.
Léo Bonatini, Vitinho, and Javier Güemez scored the visitors’ goals, while Victor Dávila scored León’s only goal. Everyone expected much more from La Fiera in this match, and the fans’ frustration with the disqualification is immense. The Brazilian coach André Jardine showed that he knows how to play away from home and in a scenario of complete favoritism of the opponent. The team from Potosà will face America.
