With the results in this match, the Eagles got a three games win-streak, as they had victories over Necaxa and San Luis at their back coming into the encounter.

The team has not tasted defeat yet and is keeping a short distance from the top.

On the opposing side, Tijuana got their second loss handed to them with Miguel Herrera directing the team. On Wednesday they lost against Chivas, and their seven points in the league so far are not that promising.

America managed to get the lead with two goals. One from Leo Suarez at the 40-minute mark and another from Diego Valdes at the 52nd.

At minute 69, they got the numbers on their side. Josue Dominguez from Xolos got a red card and was sent out of the field after only 32 seconds of having entered the field in place of Leonel Lopez.

In the last few minutes of the match, Tijuana managed to get the score closer with the intervention of Silvio Martinez in the 81st minute, but it was as far as Xolos would go.

It took eight matchdays but it finally happened, Cruz Azul managed to get their first victory so far after beating Puebla on their home field.

Things are looking good for Joaquin Moreno, who took over the team after el ‘Potro’ Gutiérrez got kicked thanks to the awful results of getting only one point with 5 matches, and 4 straight losses.

Charly Rodríguez managed to score a first goal in the last moments of the first half, to get the lead and lift the team’s spirits.

In the Second half, it was the turn of the captain Julio César Domínguez, who went to use his head and send the Maquina on their way to their first victory.

Gonzalo Carneiro sealed the deal with his first goal in Clausura 2023, but Lucas Maia from Puebla decided that he was not going to let the team go with a clean slate.
