After winning the Gold Cup and closing the gap on Mexico, the USA are the favorites to start their quest for a place at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Away to El Salvador, they will be hoping to seal their ticket to the big tournament at the expense of an opponent looking for a surprise to boost their team after a very poor run of form. Only one of El Salvador‘s last five matches has gone past the 2.5-goal mark.
The USA, on the other hand, is operating on the same automatic with their Plan A and Plan B, with five games out of six showing just one goal. The Americans are in the form of their life and results come into the game with a winning streak against El Salvador, whom they have beaten five times in a row. On the last two occasions, they have failed to score a single goal; in five of the most recent six games, three or more goals have been scored.

Head coach Gregg Berhalter is expected to release the USMNT team for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers soon. Team USA will be motivated to get through their first qualifiers in four years. They had a tough first game of three in its 14-game qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup. USMNT will first travel to El Salvador for their first game of the qualifiers. Their next destination will be Honduras. Both away games are seemingly difficult to get the qualifying rounds underway.
Team USA will host a well-formed Canadian team for their second qualifier. Recent meetings between the U.S. and Canada have been close and interesting. The U.S. will face El Salvador on Sept. 2, Canada on Sept. 5, and Honduras on Sept. 8.

Diego Henríquez, sporting director of FESFUT reported that picking the United States will arrive in the Salvadoran capital on Sunday 29, five days before the match against El Salvador at the start of the CONCACAF octagon. Henríquez also announced that the Honduras national team, El Salvador‘s second opponent, will arrive in the country on September 3 to face La Azul on September 5.
FESFUT sports director Diego Henriquez confirmed that the U.S. will land in El Salvador next Sunday, August 29, five days before their match against El Salvador. Henríquez added that the Honduran national team will touch down in El Salvador on Sept. 3 for their Sept. 5 clash.
