Matchday 31 of the Brasileirão began with the visit of the second team of Flamengo to Cuiabá on Saturday night. The hosts did not have enough strength to hold Flamengo’s talented players and started losing 2-0. Near the end of the match, Rafael Gava scored the only goal for the hosts. Cuiabá remains in the relegation zone.

Internacional and Goiás made the match with the highest number of goals of the round: 6. Playing at home, Inter opened the scoring at the beginning of the match and Goiás also launched the attack. An open game with chances for both sides was seen until the end. Pedro Raul scored two goals for the visitors, but the team ended up losing to the hosts by 4-2.

On a rainy Sunday afternoon, Botafogo went to Morumbi, held back the pressure of São Paulo, and won 1-0 at the end of the match, with a penalty goal from the talented striker Tiquinho Soares. Botafogo reached their second consecutive victory in the Brasileirão and their fourth in the last five games. São Paulo faced its first defeat in the last five games.

The most surprising result of the round came from América Mineiro. Visiting Fluminense’s good team at Maracanã, América was superior for most of the game and beat the hosts 2-0, extending Fluminense’s negative streak to three consecutive defeats. América took eighth place and Fluminense dropped to fifth.

Corinthians beat Athletico 2-1 at home; Fortaleza beat Avai 2-0. After beating Bragantino 2-1 at home, Coritiba won important points to move away from the relegation zone for another round.

Two games will still take place this Monday night: Atlético Goianiense vs. Palmeiras and Santos vs. Juventude. There are 7 rounds left for the end of the Brasileirão, we will certainly miss it!
