Super Bowl

Super Bowl

Although there are still 12 rounds to go until the end of the Brasileirão, it is already possible to observe some trends in the competition, such as the probable title of Palmeiras and the imminent relegation of Juventude. At the top of the table, it seems unlikely that anyone will still be able to reach the leader, remaining only the qualifying positions for Copa Libertadores as the best option.

At the bottom of the table, we also see the maintenance of the same teams for a few rounds, sometimes leaving the relegation zone, then returning to it. Avaí, Cuiabá, Coritiba and Atlético Goianiense have alternated these ups and downs, escaping and then returning to the relegation zone.

The most surprising result of round 26 was, of course, the tie between Goiás and Flamengo (1-1), in a match in which the visitors were clear favorites, but they only managed to tie the game at the end of the second half. Goiás still left the field complaining a lot to the referees, as they believe that Flamengo’s goal should have been invalidated.

The major rivalry game of the round (São Paulo vs. Corinthians) also ended in a draw, with a goal for each side without changing the positions of the teams.

Fluminense won again after being defeated by Athletico in the previous round. Argentine striker Germán Cano, the top scorer in the Brasileirão, scored both goals for the home team and sealed the victory for his team.

This was also an interesting round because it broke all the teams’ winning streaks. Goiás came from three consecutive victories and had to face the giant Flamengo to stop this positive sequence a little. Atlético Goianiense, in turn, completed three consecutive defeats, after losing to Coritiba by 2-0 in the last round.

Internacional, after beating Cuiabá by 1-0, takes the 2nd place in the table.
