Flamengo managed to overcome the hurdle of matchday 13 of the Brasileirão and remains the leader of the tournament, now with a bigger advantage over their pursuers.

The Mengão beat Cruzeiro and, with 27 points, can now look down on everyone, and benefited from Botafogo’s draw against Vasco (1-1) and Bahia’s defeat of Sao Paulo (3-1).

Palmeiras just beat Corinthians, firmly establishing itself as the runner-up.

In Rio de Janeiro, Vasco surprised their neighbors, Botafogo, to earn a 1-1 draw that kept them out of the relegation zone.

The visitors took the lead in the 73rd minute with a header by Bastos that beat goalkeeper Léo Jardim from a corner kick by Oscar Romero. The equalizer came at 84′, also with a header by Argentine Pablo Vegetti.

Vasco reached 11 points and is in 16th position, surpassing Atlético-GO because it has more wins (3 vs. 2), which is the tiebreaker in the Brasileirão. Meanwhile, Botafogo moved away from Flamengo and is now three points behind.

One of the surprises of the day came from Atlético Goianiense, who drew 1-1 at Atlético Mineiro and earned a valuable point in the fight against relegation.

The goals came in the first half and it was the visitors who opened the scoring with a good goal by Luiz Fernando, shooting over goalkeeper Matheus Mendes after a long pass from Lucas Kal.

The equalizer for the home team came in the 23rd minute after a clearance from the defense that fell at the feet of Paulinho and he scored under the goalkeeper Ronaldo, who was one of the stars of the afternoon.

With this result, Mineiro is in 11th place with 18 points, while Goianiense is 17th with 11.

Flamengo managed to maintain its lead in the Brasileirão and increase its advantage after beating Cruzeiro 2-1 at the Maracanã.

Early in the match, in the 16th minute, Pedro made it 1-0 for Fla after a good run by Gerson, who assisted him and the striker scored with a first-time cross. With this goal, Pedro reached six goals in the tournament and is the top scorer of the Brasileirão. He also has four assists, making him the most productive player in the offense.

The equalizer came in the 38th minute with a cross-shot by Matheus Pereira from outside the area.

In the second half, at 65′, a free kick by Luiz Araújo found the head of Fabricio Bruno, who was in charge of decreeing the definitive 2-1.

Thanks to this victory, Flamengo remains in first place with 27 points, three more than Botafogo and Bahia, and one ahead of Palmeiras. Cruzeiro dropped to seventh place and got out of the Libertadores zone.
