The actions and emotions of the Brasileirão continue, and last weekend, we enjoyed exceptional matches that did not let us sit still in our armchairs for a single second.

After 9 rounds, Botafogo stormed to the top of the table after winning three consecutive matches. However, they are followed by Flamengo and Bahia, just one point behind, while Paranaense is in fourth place, just two points off the top.

As we can see, the battle for supremacy in Brazilian soccer is hotting up and will only intensify. The teams are getting into the rhythm of play necessary to be decisive and take victories that will help them to be as high as possible in the table.

Bragantino took a step forward at home this matchday by taking the three points against Juventude with a great 2-1 victory. In this match, we enjoyed an intense give and take, but the home side was able to overcome to take the win.

It all started with RB Bragantino laying siege to Juventude’s area, and in the 2nd minute, Helinho scored his first goal of the night to put his team ahead. However, 10 minutes later, Jadsom received a red card, leaving Bragantino with ten players for the remainder of the match.

Juventude certainly took advantage of this at various stages of the match and, in the 26th minute, they managed to level the score at 1-1 thanks to Luis Mandaca’s goal. Then, this goal gave a lot of air to the visiting team that attacked Bragantino incessantly but without effectiveness while looking for the goal.

Finally, when we all thought that the match would end 1-1, Helinho, in the 82′ minute, scored the definitive 2-1 to give the three points to his team.

One of the pleasant surprises we enjoyed on matchday 9 was Atlético Goianiense’s victory over Fluminense as visitors with an excellent score of 2-1.

Fluminense could not take advantage of their locality at the mythical Maracanã Stadium and lost in a match that had plenty of scoring chances on both sides.

It all started with an exceptional back and forth, which led Fluminense to take the lead in the 41st minute, thanks to a goal by Paulo Henrique Ganso. Then, in the second half, Atlético-GO’s intense attacks took effect, as in the 71st minute, Luis Moraes dos Santos scored the equalizer to make it 1-1.

Finally, in the last seconds of the match, specifically in the 90+5′ minute, Mateo Zuleta scored the definitive 2-1 to lead Atlético Goianiense to a masterful victory on the road.

The most interesting match of the weekend brought a lot of emotions, leaving us with a strange taste in our mouths, considering that Paranaense and Flamengo tied 1-1 on the scoreboard.

Paranaense has been surprising many at the start of the season and came very close to doing so against Flamengo at home. However, a late goal in the final seconds saw Flamengo equalize to share the spoils.

The match was full of excitement, but the teams reached the 90th-minute level at 0-0 on the scoreboard. However, Fernandinho gave the home team the lead in the 90+2′ minute,through a penalty kick. Finally, in minute 90+9′, Evertton Fernandes Araújo scored the 1-1 to put the match to a close.

Result: Paranaense (1) – (1) Flamengo

Finally, Palmeiras is reacting at this point of the season, as they achieved an extraordinary 4-0 away victory over Atlético Mineiro in the game that closed the curtain on matchday 9 of the Brasileirão.

Even though Palmeiras has several players who are unavailable due to their national teams being at the Copa América, they spared no effort and achieved a resounding victory in matchday 9 against one of their strongest rivals, Atlético Mineiro.

It all started with a relentless attack by Palmeiras that led them to score the first goal in the 25th minute through Aníbal Romero. Then, 6 minutes later, Atlético Mineiro was left with 10 players on the field due to the expulsion of Hulk, which left them conditioned for the rest of the match.

After a 1-0 lead at the end of the first half, Palmeiras came out with everything in the second half and, in the 60th and 61st minutes, Joaquín Piquerez and Estevão William scored two goals to give the team peace of mind in only 15 minutes played.

Finally, in minute 90+5′, José Manuel López scored the definitive 4-0 to give the visitors the three points.
