Matchday 14 of the Brasilerão was one of the most important for Botafogo, as they took a 10-point lead at the top, after beating a powerful Gremio away.
The victory for the team led by Claudio Caçapa on an interim basis was 2-0, thanks to goals by Carlos Eduardo and Carlos Alberto at 74 and 88 minutes, respectively.
The Fogao took advantage of the fact that in the other most attractive match of the day, Palmeiras and Flamengo, who are now second in the Brazilian table, drew 1-1.
In the lower part of the table, everything remains the same, which is why Corinthians, who beat Atlético Mineiro 1-0, was able to take four points off the top of the table and, for the time being, save the category.
