Arturo Alfonso González is a Mexican soccer player who was born on September 5, 1994, in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. González currently plays as a midfielder for CF Monterrey in the Liga MX.

The beginnings for Arturo González, nicknamed Poncho by his teammates, were in the lower categories of Atlas in 2009. When he was only 15 years old he was part of the sub-15, sub-17, and later sub-20 teams.

Throughout his career, Arturo “Poncho” González has not been a prolific goal scorer. However, his good handling of the ball has kept him in the Mexican first division.

Arturo Alfonso González: First Years

His professional debut came when he was 18 years old, with Atlas in a match against Tigres, coming on in the 62nd minute for Alonso Zamora. In that same season, he played a match against Jaguares; these two being his only appearances in the 2012 closing tournament.

After the 2012-13 season, where he played 9 games and scored 1 goal, González managed to establish himself in the middle of the Atlas field, being one of the team’s main references until 2016, when he was transferred to CF Monterrey.

Monterrey

On July 10, 2016, González made his debut for CF Monterrey in a match where they were paying tribute to Humberto “Chupete” Suazo. Then he entered the game from the bench and scored his first goal in a Monterrey jersey.

Since then, he has been one of the essential players of each of the coaches who have passed through the Monterrey bench, prove to that is that he is one of the players who has played the most games for Rayados since he arrived at the club.
