Atlas’ fourth victory in the 2023 Apertura Tournament arrived by beating FC Juárez 2-1. The people from Guadalajara are going strong to get into the first four places of the campaign with 15 points.
Once again Jordy Caicedo, together with Jaziel Martínez, were key to the victory of Benjamín Mora’s team, who has 3 wins in their last 4 games and hence their climb in the standings.
The locals were surprised and, even being in third place, they did not know how to turn the game around; The low score was key to the defeat, even so, Diego Mejía’s team did not play badly.
The Zorros got their fourth win of the semester and those from Chihuahua fell for the second time in the campaign, on a night in which the locals finished above the Guadalajara team, who showed two faces.
Diego Valoyes entered late for Bravos since he changed the face of the team; With him, Juárez seemed much more dangerous.

The King of the Royal Classic, André Pierre Gignac led the Tigres celebrations in the Clásico Regio 133 by scoring a double that proclaimed him the top scorer in this rivalry.
Those led by Fernando Ortiz jumped onto the playing field of the University Stadium to impose conditions as soon as possible. After a couple of attempts, in the 14th minute, the clearest opportunity came for the visitors in a header from Luis Romo that ended up being deflected by Nahuel Guzmán on the line.
Moments later, the university team showed that the important thing in the Classics is to be forceful. Sebastián Córdova received the ball on the right side and immediately sent a cross to the heart of the area. André Pierre Gignac appeared in this area to touch the ball and send it to the back of the net to give the home team an advantage.

This score not only blew up the Universitario Stadium because it put them in the lead in the Clásico Regio 133, but it also meant the French striker’s eleventh score in these duels, making him the top scorer in the history of this classic along with Mario ‘Bahia’ Souza Mota.
However, the Frenchman was not satisfied with matching ‘Bahia’ and in the second half, he took over the record. The central referee signaled the maximum penalty in the 59th minute after Govea knocked down Córdova in the area. Gignac took the ball and charged into the center to score his 12th goal in the history of the Royal Classics.
This celebration by the Tigres team continued with one more goal in the 71st minute. Luis Quiñones advanced down the right wing to later launch a delayed cross that ended up at the feet of Diego Lainez. The Mexican soccer player controlled the ball and took a cross-shot that went in close to the right post to finish the 3-0 win at the University Stadium.

Toluca and América tied 1-1 in activity on Apertura MX 2023 Matchday 9, in a match that went back and forth with emotions and injuries.
The ‘Águilas’ lost a couple of players with Diego Valdés and Luis Malagón who were replaced due to muscle discomfort, two tough losses if it is confirmed that they could be serious or long-term. On the part of the Red Devils, the person affected was Maxi Araújo, who ended up completely exhausted from the effort and in the end felt some type of pain that caused him to be taken out of the game.
During the match, America looked superior in several periods. What’s more, there was no sign of where Toluca could do any harm since the goal was disallowed at the start of the game.
América took the lead thanks to the goal from Chilean Valdés, his fifth of the season and the fourth in the last three games that the Coapa team played. The tie came until the second half with Araújo who finished off a great collective play by the Red Devils.
