Club América is in a sweet moment of the season, as it seems invincible and this weekend achieved a new victory, beating a weak rival like Mazatlán.
However, the eyes of Mexican soccer on Matchday 12 went to the Guadalajara derby, where Chivas destroyed Atlas, with a great performance by striker Ricardo Marín.
This victory allowed the ‘Rebaño’ to move closer to the top of the standings, overtaking the ‘Zorros’.
Monterrey also regained its smile, beating Juárez at home, a team that has been sinking in bad results for several dates.
Finally, Tijuana took advantage of Atlético San Luis’s irregular level and won at home, winning three of their last five matches.

Club América continues its winning streak in Liga MX and this time came from behind to defeat a poor Mazatlán 1-2.
Although the home side took the lead through Luis Amarilla at 39′, the recovered Diego Valdés equalized at 54′, pushing in a cross from Alejandro Zendejas in the box. The second goal was scored by Igor Lichnovsky, who headed a cross from Richard Sánchez.
The ‘Águilas’ are at the top of the table with 27 points and have so far lost only one game in the entire tournament. Mazatlán is second to last with only 10 points.

After two games without a win, Monterrey earned three points by beating a sluggish Juárez 3-1, reaching the 17-point mark and moving up to eighth place.
For the Rayados, the score opened with a penalty kick converted by Maxi Meza (6′), the second was scored by Rogelio Funes Mori at 28′ with a header at the near post after a corner kick and the score was closed by the striker himself at 46 minutes, sending a Meza cross from the right flank into the net. For Juárez, Avilés Hurtado, a former Monterrey player, scored from the penalty spot (52′).
After a really good start, the visitors are in free fall, with 14 points, in tenth place, and without a win in four matches.

Chivas de Guadalajara faced the derby against Atlas with a voracious hunger and won 4-1, with Fernando Beltrán scoring the first goal in the 8th minute with a shot to the left post.
Although the ‘Zorros’ equalized at 44′ with a great goal by Aldo Rocha, Ricardo Marín scored the second with a diving header at 63′. Marín himself scored the third at 84′ with a solo run and a definition to the right vertical and the last one was scored by Roberto Alvarado with a penalty kick (90+3′).
The ‘Rebaño’ reached 18 points for sixth place, while Atlas remained in 11th place with 15 points.

Tijuana is raising its level and this was proven on another weekend, as it overcame Atlético San Luis 2-1, which continues to drop points along the way.
Alejandro Martínez with a cross-shot (19′) and Carlos González with a goal-bound effort (74′) scored the Xolos’ goals, while the San Luis de Potosí team celebrated with Léo Bonatini (67′).
Tijuana is now seventh with 17 points, while San Luis, who was the leader in the first part of the tournament, dropped to fourth place with 19.
