Thunderpick World Championship 2024 – So far
At the time of writing this article, we already have some surprising results in Group A.
All attention was focused on Team Falcons during their first official appearance in the tournament with Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev on their roster. While s1mple proved to be the standout player of his team, Falcons failed to defeat 3DMAX, eventually losing with a score of 0-2. The challenges continued for Falcons and s1mple when they faced VP in the Elimination Match and suffered another 0-2 loss, leaving the tournament and returning home empty-handed.
Undoubtedly, this disappointing performance was not what s1mple and the community had anticipated for the esteemed Ukrainian player. However, it could be just the initial phase of a promising journey in CS2, especially considering his prolonged absence from the scene for almost a year.
On the other hand, the French team, 3DMAX, pleasantly surprised everyone by securing victories in both series played during the Group A stage, earning them a spot in the tournament playoffs. In their opening match, 3D MAX impressively won 2-0 against Team Falcons and s1mple, showing their strong skills against a talented opponent. Their success continued in the Winners Match, where they scored another 2-0 win, this time against OG, cementing their place in the tournament playoffs.
Finally, OG and VP will play each other in the Decider Match to find out the second qualifier of Group A.
The Thunderpick World Championship continues.
Following the action in Group A, we have, at the time of writing, the Group B matches being played, with the following opening matches:

9z Team vs. Fnatic
