The guys of EDward Gaming achieved an excellent victory against FunPlus Phoenix this Friday, February 18, 2022, where after two extremely close maps, they managed to take the victory in this week 5 of the LPL Spring 2022, with a result of 2-0.

EDward Gaming knew that to get a sure victory in this match, they would have to use the excellent strategy of fighting in teams throughout the entire map and, even more so, with the ascending selection of Hecarim, which was going to help them decrease the damage that FunPlus Phoenix could do to them in the middle and at the end of the map.

For EDward Gaming to pull off a victory on the first map, they had to play aggressively from the start. And it is that just 5 minutes into the match, Scout was caught in a very large area of the map and was pushed to the Hecarim of Jiejie.

At one point in the match, it looked like FunPlus Phoenix laner Xiaolaohu was going to kill Jiejie, but the excellent teamwork that EDward Gaming was showing put a stop to all of FPX’s aspirations. It was EDG support, Meiko who saved the game and EDward Gaming went 2 for 1 in kills.

Because of this, Jiejie had to prioritize his presence in the match, specifically at the top of the map, where Flandre was able to beat and kill Xiaolaohu.

On FunPlus Phoenix’s side, jungler Clid tried to stop Jiejie, who was under heavy pressure early in the match, but support Meiko was everywhere and wouldn’t allow it.

The tone of the first game continued in the same way, a very offensive game by both teams that finally opted for the victory of EDward Gaming, with Scout as a figure.

The second map started with FunPlus Phoenix banning Hecarim so Jiejie couldn’t use him. So EDward Gaming had to come up with a strategy based on AD carry Viper to seek victory in this match using the excellent damage that Scout causes.

After FPX took the initiative and was controlling the game, EDG started to win the fight after a very good action where they managed to kill Hang. At the time, Gori was about to be EDG’s third kill on this map, but, thanks to Sylas’ healing, he managed to stay alive until Clid’s return.

Finally, EDward Gaming took out the caste and won the second map, so it continues to show that it is at an excellent competitive level and has only one goal at the moment, to be at the top of the leaderboard.
