CS:GO’s Operation Riptide Arrived with Big Changes

Last Updated on September 28, 2021 12:33 pm by Erwin Noguera

The last months of the year will come with a lot of strength to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The reason is Valve decided to launch one of the most important operations that have the game in recent times. This is due to a large number of modes and significant changes that are implemented within it. This update is called Riptide, where five new maps were included, which were chosen by the community. In addition to this, it also offers a private queue on the servers so you can safely match up with other players.

If you’re a Counter-Strike lover, let us tell you that there are some truly significant changes within the First Person Shooter (FSP), which of course we’ll be going over in this CS:GO article.

The importance of updating

Operation Riptide is characterized by the big change that has made CS:GO with their grenades. Finally, shooter players will be able to throw their grenades as if they were weapons. In addition, from now on the FPS will feature a riot shield for players on the side of the anti-terrorists.

The update has also introduced changes to the maps Inferno, Ancient, and Dust 2. The latter is a major change, as terrorists will now have less visibility in the middle zone near their spawn. Therefore, players won’t be able to cover that area as easily with the AWP, a classic CS:GO move.

The new Operation Riptide skins

A total of 74 new skins automatically become an object of desire for the vast majority of CS:GO players. The official set of Operation Riptide skins includes some as incredible as the AK-47 with details in the purest Picasso style or an MP9 with Mount Fuji. There are also maps that seek to represent Soviet motifs such as the Desert Eagle Sputnik or MAC-10 Propaganda. Also, the most emblematic map of CS:GO leaves us skins to remember as the AK-47 Gold Arabesque.

Skins have always been an object of desire for the vast majority of CS:GO players. The price that some of them can end up reaching is out of any logic. With Operation Riptide we will have the opportunity to increase the variety of our arsenal with the huge amount of new skins for each weapon.

New game modes

In the new update, we have many more possibilities, such as setting up to play a short game (9 rounds), the Deathmatch mode and the 100 kills mode, the game mode in which one of our anti-terrorist allies can carry a protective shield, or the ability to throw grenades as weapons. Along with these changes, you can also generate a code that you can share to play a premier game.

Other changes to CS:GO’s Operation Riptide include

  • Grenades can now be dropped just like weapons.
  • Vision after death reduced from 3.0s to 2.0s (vision per headshot reduced from 1.0s to 0.5s).
  • Eagle- Body damage reduced
  • M4A1-S- Body damage has increased
  • Dual Elites- Price has been reduced to $300.
  • Riot Shield – Added the Riot Shield heavy weapon to the purchase menu, currently purchasable by TCs in casual hostage map groups.

Did you know that Operation Riptide topped Steam sales in the last week?

Like every Sunday, Valve reveals the best-selling games during the last seven days on Steam, its platform for PC games. The latest update of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive came in style, and was so received by the entire community. So it was positioned in the first place of the best-selling on the digital distribution platform of Valve video game, thanks to the new aspects that we have reviewed during the article.

Behind the new CS:GO update were the pre-orders for the Standard and Deluxe versions of New World, ahead of its official launch on Tuesday, September 28. Thanks to the tests that took place in recent months, it has become one of the most anticipated by fans.

ESL confirmed that Intel Extreme Masters Fall will be played with the new update

The eSports league, or better known by its acronym (ESL), announced that the last Regional Major League tournament will be played with the latest patch, which arrived on September 21 of this year, and will remain in effect until February 20 of next year. Then, teams will have to adapt to the changes brought by this new update.

The IEM Fall is an important tournament as it is the last of the RMR, that is to say, it gives points for the qualification to the Major of Stockholm. Movistar Riders and MAD Lions will be the Spanish representatives in the championship.
