The Bundesliga is welcoming its second half with many excellent games, and even if the title fight takes the spotlight, below in the table we find an excellent dispute for the top four, in which Dortmund, who visits Köln, participates.
‘Die Geißböcke’ last drew with Heidenheim, breaking a streak of two losses in a row. They are second to last in the table.
‘Die Borussen’ comes from giving a category beating to Darmstadt, thus breaking a terrible row of results.

Why Bet on Köln?
The team from Cologne has had a terrible season till now. Although they are no strangers to relegation, the issue is that the team came from two pretty good seasons, fighting to compete in Europe and succeding in the first one. However, during this campaign, the project seems to have crumbled down.
With just two wins, five draws, and ten losses, they accumulate more defeats than matches with points, and their terrible offensive output is to blame. They have eleven goals in favor, and, just for context, there are already three players with the same number or more goals than them. Their 29 goals against aren’t good but fall in the average for a lower-midtable team.
They need to ignite their attack soon or bring a goalscorer or creative player in this winter market, as an average of almost 0.6 goals per game is a recipe for relegation.
Why Bet on Dortmund?
Borussia started the season wanting to fight for the title, as always, but their aspirations have been relegated to qualifying for the Champions League. They have a high-risk approach, and their decent attacking numbers are overshadowed by their poor defense. They have conceded 25 goals, just four less than their rivals, second to last in the league.
Lacking a strong goal-scoring reference is an issue for the approach that Dortmund proposes. At the moment, Julian Brandt has been the best scorer for the team (6 goals,) while Haller and Füllkrug have been a flop so far.
They have tried different approaches to solve their defensive issues and create more for their forwards with no success. They even deployed three at the back on one occasion, but this time, we believe they’ll resort to four at the back again. It’ll be a shame if they have defensive problems against a team with eleven goals in half a season.
Final betting analysis – Köln vs. Dortmund
Two traditional teams in the Bundesliga will face each other but not in the circumstances that neutrals would prefer. These teams usually provide plenty of goals, but we doubt this will be the case.
In the last twenty matches between the two, eleven games have gone in Dortmund’s favor, while just five went to Köln’s side, and we have four draws. The last time the Goats won was in 2022, a year when they managed to not lose against ‘Die Borussen.’
Taking all into consideration, we believe a 0-1 in favor of the visitors is the most likely result, with the locals sitting deep with a low block, trying to prevent a disaster like the one on March 2023, when they lost 6-1.
Go for a victory for Dortmund at 1.78. If you bet $100 at such odds, you could get $78 for a total payout of $178.
