This weekend of August 21-22, Charleston dresses up to receive and host the IBJJF Charleston Summer Open, where we will be observing the different athletes belonging to the IBJJF. They want to shine and get a place in the most important jiu-jitsu companies in the world.
This will be one of the many events organized this year by the IBJJF.

Top 2 Men’s
- Yago de Souza
Yago de Souza is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu fighter who currently holds the black belt. He is one of the best middleweights of his generation. As a youth, Yago managed to win all possible medals both in his native country and in international competitions, such as the World Championship in 2015 with a brown belt.
Yago has an excellent record of 52 wins and 9 losses, with a streak of 14 consecutive won fights.
- André Porfirio
Another very good Brazilian jiu-jitsu fighter is André Porfirio, who represents the Fight Sports Academy team. André has won 4 world championships under the name of the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF), which has earned him the reputation of being one of the most outstanding athletes in the world.
Porfirio has an excellent record of 36 wins and 14 losses, with a string of 4 consecutive won fights.
Top 2 Women’s
- Ana Carolina da Silva
Ana Carolina da Silva or as she is popularly known, Aninha, is a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu fighter born on 05/06/1998. She is currently 23 years old, competes in the strawweight division, and holds a purple belt.
Aninha has a short career in this sport, in which she has a record of 3 wins and 3 losses.
Her last fight was on October 26, 2019, when she was punched out by Pamela Mara Assis.
- Beatriz “Bia Arlequina” Santos
Beatriz Santos is a 23-year-old Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter who competes in the strawweight division and is a blue belt in Jiu-Jitsu. Like Aninha, Santos does not have a long experience as a professional in this sport, so much so that she has only managed to play 3 fights, with a record of 1 victory and 2 losses.
On the other hand, Beatriz Santos is considered a promise in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, because her technique and her movements are, according to coaches and sports connoisseurs, exceptional. Therefore, we just have to wait for the right moment to see this astonishing fighter at the top.
