Brasileirão Serie A is the most important football competition in Brasil, and the main domestic trophy the Brazilian teams fight for. The teams confront each other two times, each one playing at home and visiting their rivals’ ground. The first four qualified teams go directly to the group phase of the Copa Libertadores, the fifth and sixth place go to the Copa Libertadores qualification rounds, and the clubs qualified from seventh to twelfth will go to the Copa Sudamericana, the second most important international competition in CONMEBOL.
