The results of the matchday 36 of the Brasileirão have made the upcoming two matchdays a lot more interesting as it has turned the fight for the first spot into a do-or-die situation, and three spots switched around on the top 12.
Botafogo is now the only team at the top, as Palmeiras suffered a massive setback. Besides that, it seems like Criciúma and Bragantino now need a miracle to try and jump out of the relegation zone before it is too late.
With things getting so interesting in this last stretch of the Brasileirão, we need to look back on the results from this weekend in order to prepare for the season close.

Things looked pretty good for the hosts in this clash, as they started early and strong. Alerrando scored in the 9th minute, allowing the team to get more comfortable as they handed it to the now fifth-placed Fortaleza.
Alerrando was not done with the early goal he had, scoring a second in the 37th minute, and giving his team a boost. His double served to place him at the top for the Golden Boot, an award that would be unexpected and very welcome in case it comes to this humble team.
It was impressive to see that even with only 28% of the ball possession, the locals not only did the damage, but they also had four more shots on target than the visitors. The win almost secured a Copa Sudamericana group stage spot.
