The Brasileirão continues to keep its fans on the edge of their seats, as the top teams on the board continue to make a strong push forward and separate from the others.
The top-placed Botafogo has continued on their tracks, as they seem to have no breathing room, with a pretty strong Palmeiras continuing on their hot streak. The Paulistas have five victories in their last five, and we also get Fortaleza, who are back in the win column.

The clash between the now 17th and the 20th-placed teams was kind of what was expected, even though it had a later start than one would’ve thought.
Corinthians opened up the score on the added time in the first half, as Angel Romero decided to take things into his own hands. He did also go into the second half to give his team a strong lead by scoring once again in the 55th minute.
Rodrigo Garro took the chance to score in the 88th, to put a final nail in Atletico Goianiense’s coffin during this match.

Botafogo has been looking pretty strong on paper, as they have racked up another three-match win streak after this last clash, and they are keeping Palmeiras at bay as good as they can, but there is a detail to take into consideration here.
They are one of the most offensive teams in the whole league, and they were unable to open the score earlier against the now 18th-placed team on the board.
The fact that it took as long as the 5th minute of added time in the second half for Luiz Henrique to get a goal and land the team three points instead of sharing the spoils is underwhelming.
It either shows that Fluminense is ready to hang in with stronger teams and that we should be expecting them to pick up, or, what is more likely, shows that Botafogo is slowing down hard from the pace they started with.

This match was expected to be pretty interesting, as both teams were in the top spots, but no one would’ve guessed the kind of beatdown we were about to witness.
With Marinho opening the score in the 28th minute in favor of Fortaleza, and then Everaldo Stum landing one to level the score, we would have expected things to be quite contested, but it took a short time for Marinho to get back into it, as he scored a second on the 37th.
The home team kept their opponents at bay, and it all seemed like it was done and ready to wrap up, but once the clock reached the 80th minute, Tomas Pochettino scored the 3rd and Renato Kayzer landed the 4th in the 89th minute for Fortaleza to finish strong.

The defending champions have been looking pretty strong, landing win after win as they continue to try and take over the top spot and get the title again, but they have kept things good by not overworking their players.
Vasco de Gama seemed to do decently at first, but once Jose Manuel Lopez scored the first for the visitors in the 26th minute, Vasco started to look slightly desperate.
The team got 55% of the ball, but they couldn’t break through Palmeiras’ defense, and they couldn’t get one goal to share the spoils.
On the other hand, the title contenders kept the score low and worked the defense to keep their players healthy as they tried to push forward in the last stretch of the Brasileirão.
