The big surprise of the weekend was at the Allianz Parque, where Palmeiras, who were fighting for first place, lost 0-2 to Vitória, a team in the relegation zone, and that came with four defeats in a row.

The Verdão had more than 20 shots, 13 corners, and71% of ball possession but could not score a goal. What their opponents were able to do. A great finish from the edge of the area by Osvaldo at 52′ and a lethal counterattack by Matheuzinho at 83′ were enough for the visitors to take the victory, and three points moved them up to 17th place with 18 points.

Palmeiras is third with 36 points, four points behind Flamengo (who have a game in hand) and Botafogo. It was also their second defeat in a row and third in four games.

A controversial penalty by Igor Vinícius on Breno Lopes before two minutes was enough for Fortaleza to defeat São Paulo 1-0 and reach 36 points, close to the Brasileirão leaders.

The goal was scored by Renato Kayzer at 4′, in what was his third goal in the championship and second with the Tricolor shirt, as he scored one with Criciúma on the first matchday. With 24 goals, they are the team that scores the least among the first seven teams. They have six unbeaten games, winning five of them.

São Paulo, on the other hand, is in sixth place with 32 points and has now gone three games without a win.

Flamengo regained the lead in the Brasileirão thanks to a 2-0 victory over Atlético Goianiense, sinking to the bottom of the table.

The championship’s top scorer, Pedro (10), opened the scoring in the 19th minute after a cross from the right by Giorgian De Arrascaeta, while the Uruguayan extended the lead in the 61st minute with a right-footed shot after a pass from Ayrton Lucas.

The Mengão have three wins in a row and have 40 points, the same as Botafogo, but have one game less and a better goal difference. Meanwhile, Goianiense is in last place with only 12 points and 11 games without a win, taking four out of 33 points in that period.

Bahia wanted to get back to winning ways after a bad streak. However, the three points slipped away from them late in the game, and they ended up tying 1-1 with Internacional.

The locals started winning after 13 minutes with a header by David Duarte after a cross by Uruguayan Carlos de Pena. Inter tried hard and finally equalized at 89′ after Gustavo Prado’s shot was saved by goalkeeper Marcos Felipe, but the rebound was left to Colombian Rafael Santos Borré, who scored.

With this tie, Bahia is in seventh position with 32 points, while Internacional is 14th with 20 and still without a win, extending its negative streak to ten games.
