A new round of the Brasileirão was played during the week, and two big teams, Flamengo and Palmeiras, are starting to show that they will fight for the title until the end.
The Fla won the derby against Fluminense, which is sinking to the bottom of the table and also cost coach Fernando Diniz his job.
The Verdão also fulfilled its task and defeated Juventude, remaining only one point behind the Mengão.
Among the surprises of the day were Criciúma’s victory over Botafogo and Vasco’s win over São Paulo.

One of the surprises of the week was Criciúma’s victory over Botafogo, a team fighting to reach first place.
The local team, which already has two wins in a row and three games undefeated, opened the scoring after 10 minutes following a good play by Ronald on the right and a cross that found the head of Barreto.
In the second half, the Paulista team would equalize with a great header by Lucas Halter after a corner kick, but at 84,’ Arthur Caíke appeared to score under the goalkeeper and decree the definitive 2-1.
With this victory, Criciúma reached 12 points and moved to 13th place, while Botafogo dropped to fourth with 20 points.

Athletico Paranaense missed a great opportunity after drawing 1-1 at home with Corinthians, allowing a goal in one of the last plays.
The home side opened the scoring after 45 minutes with a good header by Christian, but at 90+2, a great free kick by Rodrigo Garro hit the post, and Cacá took advantage to chest the ball into the back of the net.
For the Furacão, it was a great disappointment, and they remain in fifth place with 19 points, while for the Timão, it was a very important draw, although they still are in the relegation zone.

Palmeiras does not want Flamengo to move away, and for that, they must win, and that is what they did at home against Juventude. It was a 3-1 win for the Verdão, who are second only one point behind the Fla.
