Naoya Inoue vs. Michael Dasmarinas Preview & Betting Lines

This Saturday, June 19, Virgin Hotels Las Vegas will be host to a significant boxing event in which the current champion and owner of the belts of the International Boxing Federation and the World Boxing AssociationNaoya Inoue, will fight to keep his world bantamweight titles from the challenger, Michael Dasmarinas.

How do Inoue and Dasmarinas get to this fight?

World Bantamweight Champion Naoya Inoue comes into this fight with his impressive professional record of 20 wins and 0 losses, of which 17 of those wins came via knockout. He will seek to defend the title for the third time after being the world champion. Inoue is considered the second-best pound-for-pound fighter today, according to The Ring magazine, after Canelo Alvarez.

He comes from defending his title on October 30, 2020, against Australian Jason Moloney by knockout in the seventh round.

For his part, the challenger, the Filipin Michael Dasmarinas, is the “mandatory” challenger by the IBF, so Inoue must comply. Dasmarinas also has an impressive record of 30 wins and 2 losses, and 1 draw, of which 20 of them have been via knockout.

His last fight was almost the same day as that of Inoue, on October 29, 2019, against Artid Bamrungauea, where he beat him by knockout. Although Dasmarinas has not had victories against top-level contenders, this seems to be the best opportunity to show that his victories are not just by chance.

Betting line for Naoya Inoue vs. Michael Dasmarinas

While it is true that statistics show that the Filipin Dasmarinas has more professional experience than the Japanese Inoue, the champion tag and the excellent title defenses that he has had, leave him at another level that very few boxers have been able to reach in his career. We believe that there is almost zero probability that the challenger Dasmarinas will achieve victory in this fight against the world champion, so our winner token is undoubtedly Naoya Inoue.

Moneyline:         (-2000) – Naoya Inoue                     (+1000) – Michael Dasmarinas
