Standing in his way is Croatian heavyweight Filip Hrgovic. The 31-year-old fighter is undefeated at 17-0 with 14 knockouts. He has steadily built up his resume in recent years, picking up wins over veterans like Rydell Booker and Zhang Zhilei. Hrgovic was on his way to a world title shot, but his momentum has slowed lately.

Why Bet on Daniel Dubois?

Daniel Dubois is a 26-year-old British heavyweight boxer with a professional record of 20 wins and 2 losses, with 19 wins by knockout. He turned pro in 2017 and quickly made a name for himself, scoring knockouts in his first 14 fights. His biggest wins have come against Nathan Gorman, who he stopped in five rounds to win the British Heavyweight title, and Joe Joyce, who he knocked out in 10 rounds.

The only losses on Dubois’ record came in 2020 against Joe Joyce and in August 2023 to Oleksandr Usyk. In the fight against Joyce, he suffered an orbital bone fracture and hurt his knee in the 10th round, being unable to continue. The loss was controversial as he was ahead on all three judges’ scorecards at the time.

As a fighter, Dubois possesses terrifying power in his hands, with dynamite in both his left hook and straight right. He has stopped all but one of his opponents before the final bell. At 6′ 5” and over 240 pounds, he is a big heavyweight who uses his size and reach well.

Daniel’s biggest weakness is his defense. He tends to take punches to connect his power punches, which backfired against Joyce. Improving his defense and his ability to make mid-fight adjustments will be key as he moves forward in the contest.

Why Bet on Filip Hrgovic?

Filip Hrgović is a 31-year-old Croatian heavyweight boxer with a professional record of 17-0 with 14 knockouts. He had a successful amateur career, winning a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympics and gold at the 2015 World Championships. As a professional, he has quickly risen through the heavyweight ranks under the guidance of promoter Eddie Hearn.

Some of Hrgović’s notable wins include stopping Amir Mansour in the third round in 2018 and outpointing Rydell Booker in 5 rounds in 2020. In his biggest test to date, he dominated the previously undefeated Zhang Zhilei for 12 rounds in 2022.

Filip is 6′ 6” and has excellent technical boxing skills for a big man. He uses his height and reach advantages well, working behind a stiff jab and scoring with accurate power punches. His footwork is also underrated, allowing him to effectively cut off the ring.

Final Betting Analysis: Daniel Dubois vs. Filip Hrgovic

This fight will be an interesting clash of styles between two heavyweight contenders. Daniel Dubois is known for his power and aggression, as he possesses devastating knockout power in both hands. He likes to knock down opponents and unload heavy combinations. Against Hrgovic, he will look to establish his jab early and get his powerful right hand behind it. He also has a dangerous left hook that could find openings as Filip looks to move.

However, Hrgovic has underrated boxing skills and footwork. He utilizes his 6′ 6” frame well by fighting high and keeping distance behind his jab. He will have a 7” reach advantage over Dubois and needs to use his length to control the action from the outside.

Ultimately, we predict Dubois will win by KO in the eighth round. His boxing skills and mobility should be enough to keep Hrgovic from throwing his powerful right hand often enough.
