We Prepare for the 8th Russian Grand Prix of the Decade

We come to race number 15 of the interesting and exciting 2021 F1 season, where we have a very nice battle for the first place between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, who so far is beating the Dutchman by only 5 points. On the other hand, there’s a fight between positions 3, 4, and 5 between Valtteri Bottas, Lando Norris, and Sergio Perez. There is a difference that does not exceed 23 points between Bottas (3rd place) and Perez (5th place).

This time and, after altering the calendar several times, it will be held at the beautiful circuit of Sochi, Russia. Sochi is the most touristic city in Russia, and its territory extends along 145 km of the Black Sea coast. The circuit is located right next to Shingle beach, which is one of the most visited in summer by Russians.

A little Preview on the Russian Grand Prix

A total of seven F1 Grand Prix have been held at this circuit since its inauguration in 2014. However, only one team has been on the top of the podium in these 7 races, the German team Mercedes. Lewis Hamilton was the winner of the GP Russia 4 times, while the others were won by Nico Rosberg and Valtteri Bottas.

The Sochi circuit is run clockwise. The total length of the race is 5,848 km, so the race will consist of 53 laps in which a total of 309,745 km will be run. Another point to highlight is that the circuit layout has 18 curves in total; 12 to the right and 6 to the left.

The GP Russia will be held on the weekend of September 24-26, 2021. As usual, on Friday the free practice will begin, so that on Saturday the qualifying race (Pole Position) will be played and, finally, on Sunday the race at the usual time in Russia.

The races happen, and the fight for the world title is more exciting than ever. The “beautiful” battle between Hamilton and Verstappen is going beyond sports and this has even intensified after the incident they had between them at GP Monza where, according to the FIA commissioners, Max Verstappen made an improper maneuver and ended up crashing and riding on (literally) Lewis Hamilton’s car. Thanks to this, Verstappen will have a penalty of 3 places on the starting grid.

Next, we will see the betting odds of the different drivers.
