Why Bet on Tim Tszyu?

Tim Tszyu is the interim WBO super-welterweight champion with a 22-0 (16 KOs) professional record. He recorded his first notable victory in August 2020 when he stopped Jeff Horn in eight rounds to win minor titles.

He then knocked out Bowyn Morgan in the first round and Dennis Hogan in the fifth, before stopping Steven Spark inside three rounds. The 28-year-old Australian’s knockout streak came to an end in his next fight though, as he went the distance in a decision win over Takeshi Inoue.

Tszyu went the distance in his only outing of 2022 too, beating Terrell Gausha via unanimous decision. He got back to his knockout ways in March though, stopping Tony Harrison in the ninth round to win the vacant WBO title.

Why Bet on Carlos Ocampo?

Carlos Ocampo is a former world title contender with a 35-2 (23 KOs) professional record. He compiled a perfect 22-0 record to earn a shot at IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr back in June 2018, but it was a short night for the Mexican as he was knocked out in the first round.

The 27-year-old rebounded from his first career defeat with a 12-fight win streak that saw him stop 10 of his opponents.

Ocampo fought four times last year, sandwiching a ninth-round stoppage of Mikael Zewski with first-round knockouts of Omir Rodriguez and Vicente Martin Rodriguez. That earned him a shot at the interim WBC super-welterweight title last October, but he again suffered a disappointment as he dropped a decision to Sebastian Fundora.

Carlos was able to quickly bounce back from that loss though, stopping Mauricio Gutierrez Castor in the fifth round in March.

Final Betting Analysis – Tim Tszyu vs. Carlos Ocampo

Tim Tszyu hasn’t exactly had the best preparation in the run-up to Sunday’s fight, suffering a huge dog bite on the inside elbow bend of his right forearm just three weeks ago at a friend’s barbeque.

That wound saw him getting to the hospital where he got both a tetanus shot and 26 stitches in his arm admitting in a recent interview that he’s had to take it a lot easier in sparring of late due to the injury. That said, the Australian is adamant that the injury won’t be a factor in this fight.

If Tim Tszyu is indeed at 100% this weekend then it’s very likely he stops Ocampo in this one.

While Ocampo is tough, showing his grittiness in his recent war against Sebastian Fundora back in October, his rival employs a lot of the same inside fundamentals that Errol Spence Jr. does, and we expect him to do just that to stop the Mexican Fighter.

Go for a victory for the Australian at -900. If you bet $100 at the champion with such odds, you could get $11.11 for a total payout of $111.11.
