The new season of Formula 1 is already underway and, with an excellent Bahrain GP, where Ferrari was the owner and lord of the race with a 1-2 that they had not achieved for several seasons, with Leclerc and Sainz competing in their Ferrari that, after the great performance, we are hopeful of having an excellent motorsport world championship, now joining the Red Bull and Mercedes party.
In this second race of the year, we move to Saudi Arabia, in the new Jeddah circuit that, for the second year, is part of the Formula 1 season calendar. This circuit is urban and is located on the Corniche, a beautiful coastal tourist area located 30 km from Jeddah.
In this Saudi Arabia GP, we will have a Jeddah circuit, which has a length of 6,174 km, with a total of 27 curves (16 to the left and 11 to the right).
This Jeddah circuit promises a lot of speed, being also one of the fastest circuits on the calendar with three zones for DRS activation. Cars will be able to reach 250 km/h average speed and 310 km/h at DRS points. The race will take place at night and the Ferraris will try to win again, although Leclerc and Sainz will have to face Hamilton who took victory in Jeddah in 2021.
Preview
The Bahrain race, where the cars were completely refurbished following the new F1 regulations, was difficult for many of the teams where they were able to see how the cars worked in the race over 60 laps.
The most surprising thing about this first GP is that we saw Ferrari with an impressive level and speed, the race record showed that the Italians were 3 tenths faster than Red Bull and 5 tenths faster than Mercedes. What’s more, were it not for the intervention of the Safety Car at the end of the race, Hamilton would have finished more than 40 seconds behind the race winner, Charles Leclerc.
The Saudi Arabia GP will be this Sunday, March 27, 2022.
