Super Bowl

Matchday 15 was intense and has the Premier League dressed in red because Arsenal won the London Derby, while Manchester City had to fight harder than expected to win. In addition, another red also won in London.

This weekend the Premier League gave us great games and only 1 draw, between Nottingham Forest and Brentford (2-2), also only Chelsea (0-1 vs. Arsenal) and Everton (0-2 vs. Leicester City) left the ground without scoring.

Leeds United and Bournemouth gave us a great game where Rodrigo put the Peacocks ahead with a penalty after 3 minutes, but Marcus Tavernier, Philip Billing, and Dominic Solanke turned it around for 1-3. However, Sam Greenwood and Liam Copper scored for the hosts and equalized the actions, and Crysencio Summerville appeared again with a late goal to give Leeds the victory like 1 week ago when they beat Liverpool.

In another great match, Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton added their second win, this time at Wolverhampton, whom they beat 2-3 thanks to a goal from Pascal Gross in the 83rd minute.

Michael Olise also scored a late goal as Crystal Palace won 1-2 at West Ham, and Aston Villa climbed out of the bottom of the table thanks to a 3-1 win against Manchester United, who lost an undefeated 9 games-record.

London is Red! Arsenal won the London Derby 0-1 at Stamford Bridge with a goal from Gabriel Magalhaes and remains the leader of the Premier League after 15 games.

It came as an even duel. Chelsea had just lost their first game in the Graham Potter era, and Arsenal, although they were still first, did not generate the same sensations and their results, except for Nottingham Forest, were very tight.

However, on this occasion, although it was 0-1, the Gunners were the owners of the game, and after the goal, they had many more opportunities that they did not know how to finish.

Those led by Mikel Arteta played a very good match, especially in the second half, showing why they are the leaders and once again they give a blow of authority against one of the Big 6 who has them with 34 points and the best defense in the championship (11 ).

The goal came in the 63rd minute after a ball that Thiago Silva lost, Arsenal managed to get a corner and this was executed by Bukayo Saka, it went through the entire area and nobody touched it until finally, Gabriel stretched out his leg to push it into the back of the net and dye London red. Chelsea, for its part, is already seventh with 21 points and has 2 consecutive defeats in the league, having only added 2 of its last 12 points.

Manchester City continues to chase Arsenal but had to battle hard to beat Fulham 2-1. The Citizens went ahead very early thanks to a very good goal by Julián Álvarez, the replacement for Erling Haaland, who was called up again after his injury but was on the bench.

However, at 26 minutes there was a play that changed the course of the game, and it was an alleged foul inside the box by Joao Cancelo on Harry Wilson. The referee did not hesitate and sanctioned the white point of the penalty and showed the Portuguese the red card, leaving his team with a man less very early. Andreas Pereira did not forgive and scored the tie.

Guardiola’s men remained faithful to their style and went in search of victory regardless of the man down, and after an hour of play the coach shouted: “Release the Kraken!” and Erling Haaland came out onto the field. At 75’ he scored a headed goal, but the VAR annulled it.

Already on the hour, an also highly questionable foul on Kevin De Bruyne was sanctioned as a penalty and on the last play of the match, Haaland scored the final 2-1, although Bernd Leno almost covered it.

It was the Norwegian’s 18th goal in the Premier League and was just 1 goal short of Luis Suárez’s mark, who in the 2013/14 season scored 19 goals in the same number of matches (12) with Liverpool, and none he did from the penalty spot. As a fun fact, Haaland has more goals than 9 teams in the league, including Chelsea.

Premier League Matchday 15: Tottenham vs. Liverpool

Tottenham +224

Liverpool +114

Liverpool never ceases to surprise in this crazy season and defeated Tottenham 1-2 away with a brace from its best player: Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian took advantage of a great first half for the ‘Reds’ to score the two goals, the first after an assist from Darwin Núñez and a very good control and definition inside the area. The second came after an error by Eric Dier in a header that he wanted to give to the goalkeeper and ended up in possession of Salah, who ran and scored against Hugo Lloris. Two goals and 0-2.

Just as the first half was for the visit, the second was for the locals. Tottenham dominated in the second half and managed to discount with a cross from Harry Kane in the 70th minute, but it was not enough and they lost, not only the game but third place.

The Spurs have lost in 3 of their last 4 games, and they could only beat Bournemouth, who is fighting relegation, by 2-3. Very bad numbers for Antonio Conte’s team, which also has very important injured players such as Richarlison, Cuti Romero, and Heung-min Son, and will not be able to count on them until next year.

Premier League Matchday 15: Southampton vs. Newcastle

WhenSunday, November 6 at 11:00 am ET

Moneyline odds:

Southampton +295

Newcastle -107

The surprising Newcastle won, again and again, and they did it with force. It was 1-4 at Southampton and they managed to climb to third place, beating Tottenham.

Eddie Howe’s team is currently one of the best in England and is undefeated for 9 games where they have achieved 6 wins in their last 7 matches, they also have 10 goals scored and only 2 conceded in the last 3. Great numbers for the Magpies who see their return to European competitions closer and closer after 10 years.

Newcastle may not always have the ball or go far, but they are very effective. This Sunday they had only 4 shots on goal and all of them ended in a goal, while the ‘Saints’ had more possession, more shots, more corner kicks, and more everything, but they could only beat Nick Pope’s resistance once.

Paraguayan Miguel Almirón led the way with a play that he started and defined softly to the side to score his eighth goal in the championship and his seventh in the last 7 games, scoring in all but the 0-0 draw with Manchester United.

Chris Wood returned to goal in the Premier after 7 months to make it 0-2 and Joe Willock sentenced the game in the 62nd minute after a great pass between the lines by Kieran Trippier. The locals discount at 89′ with a very good individual play by Romain Perraud inside the area, but only a few seconds later Bruno Guimaraes put the three goals ahead again with a shot from a medium distance.

Southampton added its second loss in a row and fell back into the relegation places, which cost Ralph Hasenhüttl job, who was dismissed this early morning after almost 5 years at the helm of the Saints.
