MLB Week 2: Red Sox vs. Tigers
The Red Sox are fresh off an intense series with their divisional rivals the Yankees, while the Tigers played host to the White Sox to open their campaign.
These two met six times last season, with both teams splitting a series and winning three games apiece.
With each team winning their respective home series, the Tigers will be aiming to turn some heads in this one.
Last season, Boston dropped their single series in Detroit, two games to one, scoring only seven runs total across the three games.
So far this season, that similar lack of offensive production has haunted them as well to open up this season.
Despite having plenty of depth, it has been a slow start, though the pitching has at least looked solid.
The opening weekend saw the Tigers hanging around with the White Sox, one of the favorites in the American League, and that confidence should carry over into the mid-week.
Being at home for the second straight series won’t hurt either, especially after having a winning record at home last season.
Adding in them taking the August three-game set from Boston at Comerica Park, and that small bit of momentum in the back of their head could be instrumental towards finding some success.
MLB Week 2: Mets vs. Phillies
New York took three out of four games against the Washington Nationals in D.C. this past weekend.
The Phillies easily took care of the Oakland Athletics as they won two out of three matchups to start the year.
The Mets will send Walker to the bump for his first start of 2022 while the Phillies will have Suarez on Monday evening.
Suarez had a 1.51 earned run average and six of his eight wins came at Citizens Bank Park last season.
Walker on the other hand had a second half to forget as he lost eight straight starts to end 2021 including two losses against the Phillies.
Wheeler, who started his career with the Mets, will get the nod against his former team while New York gives the ball back to its Opening Day starter.
Megill couldn’t ask for a better start as he blanked the Washington Nationals through five innings only allowing three hits and striking out six batters en route to his first win of 2022.
The Phillies are going to take the victory in this series, even though the Mets are looking good for day 3.
MLB Week 2: Mariners vs. White Sox
Chicago comes in after taking care of the Tigers in 2 out of 3 games and having a day of rest before their meeting with the Mariners.
The Mariners are coming in straight from their 4 game series with the twins, with no rest in between.
Things are not looking as good for the Mariners, who just took a beating in the 3rd match of their current series.
The White Sox are looking strong after securing the win against the Tigers and are likely to repeat the dose on the Mariners.
MLB Week 2: Angels vs. Rangers
Los Angeles Angels come in from taking a loss against the Astros, and looking forward to a quick series with the Marlins before they meet up with the Rangers.
The Rangers just got beaten by the Blue Jays and are doing a quick run-in with the Rockies before said Series.
Both teams come straight from two series but will have enough rest on Wednesday in order to prepare for the meeting.
After their recent performances, the Texas Rangers are a strong candidate to take over this 4 game series.
MLB Week 2: Braves vs. Padres
San Diego just took out the Dbacks and is looking to meet up with the Braves after a series with the Giants.
Atlanta has, however, struggled with the Reds and will meet the Nationals before their run-in with the Padres.
Both teams will go straight in from their last series with no rest.
The Atlanta Braves are showing better results so far, and we are expecting them to take the lead in this 3 game series.
