Dubai World Cup Night 2022

There are very few days left until one of the most important horse races in the world, the Dubai World Cup Night, is made at the Meydan racecourse in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is a sporting event made every year on the last Saturday of March. The program includes nine races and leaves its two great jewels, the Dubai Sheema Classic and the Dubai World Cup, for last.

The Dubai World Cup is also a Group 1 flat race involving exclusively Thoroughbred horses four years of age and older over a distance of 2,000 meters. The Dubai World Cup will be the ninth and final of the races. The first race was in 1996 as an initiative of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; the winner of the 2015 edition was Prince Bishop, with Willliam Buick as its jockey.

This race is expected to host a crowd of 80,000 for the first time since 2019 for the nine-race card that has a $30.5 million prize pool ($5 million more than last year), culminating in the World Cup of Dubai; this race alone has a prize pool of $12 million.

The most competitive horses of recent years like Hot Rod Charlie, Country Grammer, Midnight Bourbon Aero Trem, Chuwa Wizard, and Godolphin’s Magny Cours will be on the track in this race to try and join big winners like Thunder Snow, American Pharoah, Curlin, and Invader.

It will take place next Saturday, March 26, with the first race, the Dubai Sheema Classic, at 3:45 p.m.
