Liga MX will be reactivated this weekend and the Rojinegros del Atlas will be in action in the first match of the Saturday matchday at the Jalisco Stadium. Diego Cocca’s side will host Rayados de Monterrey this Saturday, as part of Day 8 of the Apertura 2021. Atlas and Rayados are firmly in the top eight of the general classification and have sustained their good start to the campaign based on defensive order. They prioritized good defending, without forgetting to be aggressive when looking for goals.

For Atlas, the need for a win becomes necessary as the days go by. In three home appearances, Atlas could only win against Bravos. They lost against América and against Toluca they had the door open for victory, but Julio Furch missed a penalty kick in the 90th minute.
The streak of matches for Atlas without a victory extends more, compared to what Rayados has done. Atlas has gone four games without a win, with their last win coming against Pachuca on home turf. Of those four appearances, only Atlas lost to America at home, a game in which the Rojinegros were left with an extra man and were far superior at times.
