The Formula 1 makes its way to Great Britain, arriving in Silverstone, as we close into the race that marks the second half of the year this Sunday, July 3rd at the F1 Lenovo British Grand Prix.
The British Grand Prix, first held in 1926, has been held annually since 1948 and has been a round of the FIA Formula One World Championship every year since 1950.
It has been part of the Formula One World Championship since 1967.
The British Grand Prix is currently held at the Silverstone Circuit near the village of Silverstone in Northamptonshire in England.
The 2019 event was the 70th time that the race had been run as a World Championship event since the inaugural season in 1950, and the 53rd time that a World Championship round had been held at Silverstone.
The British race is the oldest in the Formula One World Championship calendar as the 1950 race at Silverstone was round one of the first championship seasons 1950.
It and the Italian Grand Prix are the only two Formula One World Championship Grands Prix that have been staged during every season that the championship has been held.

F1 Lenovo British GP Race Preview and Betting Picks
Silverstone has been a Mercedes territory in the hybrid era, with Lewis Hamilton winning eight of the 10 races there since 2014.
The reigning world champion Max Verstappen eyes his seventh race victory of the ongoing season in this race, but it is a venue where he suffered a DNF last year.
After coming together with the British driver Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes in a heavy crash, Verstappen ended up in the barriers and suffered a 51G crash.
Hamilton was handed a 10-second penalty for his involvement in the horrific accident but eventually ended up winning the race.
While it is unlikely Mercedes will be able to challenge for victory again this year, the track will show how much progress it has made in fixing the issues with its 2022 F1 car.
Verstappen currently leads the F1 2022 drivers championship table with a 46-point advantage over second-placed Sergio Perez.
Red Bull also leads the constructors’ standings with a total of 304 points scored from the nine rounds so far.
They have 12 podium finishes to their credit, which includes seven race wins in total.
Ferrari finds itself second in the constructors’ table with 228 points.
Whereas, Mercedes are currently placed third in the standings with 188 points.
